Alma English
I completed your photo request for Alma English. She is buried with her daughter Hazel English Simecek and her son in law John J. Simecek. There were no memorials for Hazel of John so I created them and transferred them to you.
I listed the locations as captions to the larger photos. Double click the photo.

RE: Mary Scanlon McCormick Dowd
Good Evening, Lois. Re the McCormick name..our source was from our first cousin, Lyle Hatfield, ( son of Myrtle Dowd Hatfield, sister of my mother Ethel F. Dowd), all deceased. He lived very close to our grandparents the John Dowds, and at one time lived right across the alley from our grandmother Lydia Dowd, divorced from our grandfather John Dowd, and told many stories re the Dowds. All other info he gave us was dead on and we never questioned him otherwise. He said Mary Scanlon married a Mc Cormick in Ireland, had two sons and was divorced. I've not really researched the Irish side but will probably be doing that soon. Please advise me of any info you might have and what relationship you are to the Dowds by e-mailing me at Hoping to hear from you soon,

RE: Prada headstones
Glad I could get them for you. I did a reading of the cemetery this spring and am working on getting it all listed.

These graves are behind my grandparents so I knew right where they were.

Has anyone gotten a picture of the tombstone or let you know anything about the cemetery's condition?

I recently started going to a new church and I know several residents who live around that area on those roads listed and I was going to inquire about them if no one has gotten back to you. I'll have to see with weeds and other things growing if I can access it at this time. Just asking though.

There is a guy that told me about a memorial site for Dean Hill in France next year. Crashed small village named Coulonces about 2 miles W of Vire in a P51 due to bad weather. he is laid side by side with Robert J Rubel as they were students in LA, CA.

did not know if you needed this info.

Charles H. Kern
Lois, I'm sorry its taken me so long to respond. Alice and Charles Kern were my grandparents, and they did have a son charles, however, he passed away in 1993. I wish I could of more help in your search. I too am getting more into geneology. I'd like to learn more about my ancestry, especially on my father's side. All of my aunts and uncles have passed, as well as both of my parents. If you have anymore questions, please feel free to contact me by e-mail. I wish you the best in your search

RE: 1Lt. Dean J Hill

Sorry this is so late in replying. I found the picture of Dean Hill among my father's effects. At first I thought it was a picture of Robert Rubel until it was identified as Dean by Robert's brother, John Rubel.

RE: Gerald Way
You are very welcome. I actually came upon his headstone on accident as I was walking through the cemetery today. But God must have been on my side because just before I left my house, your photo request was on my mind.

What I was thinking when I was photographing the headstone was that I did not see Lucy Bird Way anywhere near him (although she does share a stone with Albert C Bird). I'm assuming that Gerald was married to Lucy when he died but she remarried after and when she died, she decided to have a double headstone with her current husband instead of being buried next to Gerald.

I'm not sure of anything, I'm just speculating.
