RE: Mclaren's in Michigan
Hi Janice,

It is quite possible they could be related. I have a family that are related to my Mclaren family that settled in Port Huron. I believe this family to be related to another Mclaren family that also lived in Sault Sainte Marie, Chippewa, Michigan. My Mclaren family seemed to stay in contact with their family for generations! Which has lead me to the family of Mclaren's in Port Huron, and other areas of Michigan(mostly straight across the middle of Michigan) and like 3 other Mclaren families I know are related but I have not found a connection yet. My Mclaren's came from I believe Perthshire Scotland around the late 1700's but stayed in contact with Mclaren's that seemed to come from Scotland around the mid 1800's or so.

What areas did your Mclaren family live in in Canada? My family lived all over. I have found my family and the Mclaren's I know are related in Huron, Lanark, Victoria, Glengarry, Oxford, Wellington, Brandt, Bruce and possibly more. If I run across any information on your family while researching mine I will pass it along.

Mclaren's in Michigan
Hi Janice,

I just saw you left flowers on my GG Grandfather's page, I dont know why I didnt get an email. I was just wondering if your Mclaren's are any relation? I noticed your Eliza Mclaren McPhail was born in St Clair and I have recently come across information where I am related to some Mclaren's out of Port Huron, St Clair Michigan. You left floweres on this page:

Janice, I am more than delighted and happy to get Cora's photo for you. I got kind of lazy this summer and get to many pictures done. But now that it has cooled off I'm back at it.

Hello Janice,
You are very welcome for the picture of his headstone. The year of death you gave didn't match, but I checked a couple other sources and was pretty sure the 1982 year was correct and I had the correct person.

RE: Henry Anders
I don't think I have any information on where Rutha is buried. I assumed it was with her first husband because Henry was buried with his first wife. Sorry I wish I could be more help.

Florence McKibben Sims
You know, all my life, the McKibben name has held beautiful fluffy feelings. I was named after Rebecca McKibben - I'm sure that is why the name is and has been so special to me. When I got your note this afternoon, my first thought was "I'm so honored to hear from Janice". My last thought is the same. Thank you for your help with Florence. Thank you for taking the time to drop me a note. Thank you for working so hard to enter our ancestors. Without people like you, there would be so much missing in our histories. I'm looking forward to working together again. Beckie

FINDING INFORMATION
Hello, I am inquiring to you how I find out more of Robert Gary Avedisian's death. I found several weeks ago and came upon his grave on this site. He has left 2 children who were not aware of his passing and have not been in touch with Robert for many many years. Can you tell me how I go about finding out more of his passing or where I can start looking. His parents have passed and I do not know of any other relatives to contact. Thank you Lynn Heiser

Jan Bos from Nijmegen, Holland
Private Cloise E. Talley
Private Cloise E. Talley was a paratrooper in C Battery 376th Parachute Field Artillery Battalion 82nd Airborne Division)and was killed on 11 July 1943 in Sicily, during the so-called operation Husky. He was killed by friendly fire. His body was found floating in Gela Bay. After his death he was buried in the temporary American cemetery GELA on Sicily in plot-grave A-6-72, date of burial was 23 July 1943.

I am writing a book about this cemetery, where over 1,200 young American men and women were buried.

I would like to use the picture you took of his grave, can I have your permission, of course you will be credited.

Are you related, if so, do you have his pictures, any documents etc

thank you

RE: Nancy J Hughs McDowell
Nancy Jane was my great grandmother. Her youngest son, Samuel Ira McDowell (1883-1968), was my maternal grandfather. His middle child, Hazel (1928-2006), was my mother, and I'm an only child. Nancy and Robert's second son, Joseph (1867-1950), married his first cousin, Minerva Sumpter (1872-1943), who was the daughter of Nancy's sister, Mary Ann (1838-1902) and her second husband, Edmundson Sumpter (1815-aft 1900). I'd love to have more information about other family members. Thanks for contacting me!--Debbie

RE: Dicey Eaton
I have the same information, that she is buried in Whitis. I'm going off of my Mom's records and she doesn't list her source.

I haven't done a lot of research on the Eden/Eaton family because they quickly give me a headache!!

Sorry I can't help more than this.

RE: John LeMaster
I had a special experience finding John's tombstone. This is a very small cemetery and I had my game plan to walk down one side and up the other. When I made it to the very back of the cemetery (alone the fenceline) I noticed an upright tombstone with a visible name. It was nobody on my list but I decided to go check it out anyway. I had a strong feeling to look to my right. In a very shady area, with brush around I saw what looked like a flat tombstone. When I went to uncover it, it was John's. I was so excited. When I stepped away to look over the area I know there was no way I would have seen it because it was somewhat blocked by a large pile of dirt. I'm so grateful for this experience. It will stay with me forever.
