You are welcome. I was there to get a pict. of my Aunt & Uncle's. When I go I take pictures of others. Although some Somerville's are connected to the Cheuvront's and My Great Grandmother was a Cheuvront. I have a lot of Cheuvront history and a little on some Somerville's. Glad I coud be of help.

Hi, this is a massive cemetery if you could call and get the location of the grave I would happily fill your request. There are 78 photo requests and none have grave locations.

Connie, you're so welcome. It's a beautiful cemetery and we would not mind going back if there are specific Somervilles that you need. Just let me know. If we make a return trip it will probably be in the Fall since temps here are near 100 now.

That is very odd! I usually use United States, District of Columbia, District of Columbia and then a whole slew of options appear including Garfield, Georgetown, Washington City, Washington!

|Anonymous||Shea / Somerville|
Connie ... I have just transferred management of Robert Shea's memorial to you and was proud to do it. My Thomas family has as well, a rich military heritage dating back to the Revolutionary War and continues through the service of my father, brother and now husband. I did some research on your Capt. William Somerville of PA and was curious if you'd explored the resources and holdings of the DAR. I have to apologize that it took me so long to get back to you with the transfer, however I was attending the DAR Genealogy Consultant training in DC all last week. Please know I would be happy to assist you with any further inquiries.

|Melissa Mitchell||Shea family|
Thanks for letting me know about Robert E. Shea's passing. I have emailed my niece so she can pass that along to her grandmother-in-law (Robert's niece) in case she doesn't know. You mentioned an obit for James William Shea. Do you have a copy you can send me? Would you happen to know when Daniel Shea was born or died? Any info would be greatly appreciated!

|Melissa Mitchell||RE: James & Mary Ann Shea|
OK, Connie, I understand. My niece might have additional information which she is gathering from her grandmother-in-law, Ann Marie Shea (James' and Mary Ann's granddaughter). I'll let her know how to pass it on to you. Also, do you know if James was married before marrying Mary Ann in 1903?

|JT||RE: JW Somerville/Winchester Nat'l Cemetery|
Just stopped by the Winchester National Cemetery today to take a few more photos for others on findagrave. There is a book listing all who are interred there. Some have dates, others not. Some only say "soldier". There was a date of interment listed for J. W. Somerville - September 10, 1864. No date of birth or death was listed.

|JT||J W Somerville|
Regarding the picture of the gravemarker for J W Somerville, many of the markers in this cemetery do not have any dates. The cemetery has no one working there. Gates are open dawn to dusk, but it is pretty much a search-on-your-own setup. I don't know if additional info is available as to who among those buried there died in which battles. I simply located the grave and took the picture.

|Sean McDonald Marceron Sommerville||Photo of Mabel Louise Sommerville|
My cousin Kitty contacted me and sent me the information on your website. I also understand you know from my brother Dennis you left our mother Mabel Louise Marceron McDonald off the list of Mabel Sommerville Marcerons children. She had 8 children. I also wanted to tell you that the photo you have of our grandmother is not actually her. I believe it is Mabel Sommerville's Mother our Great Grandmother who died in 1948, Josephine Poor Sommerville.

Hi Connie, Just click the link next to Burial and select another cemetery. No need to delete the memorial. There is no Sommerville markers in Arnold's Creek that I am aware of. I believe the ladies that covered that cemetery took photos of every grave marker there. I went to church with several Sommerville's in Mitchells, VA (near Culpeper, VA). Are you related to them?

I noticed you had added some genealogical material to the memorial and wonder if you would like it transferred to you?

All of the other pictures are now on the memorials. There is one additional marker in this family plot, but it is face down and too big to move.

Also in the Edwards family plot are the following people:
William Sommerville Edwards (1834-1909)
Fannie Throne Edwards (1839-1912)
Francis A. Edwards (1849-1922)
Charlotte Ida Edwards (1850-1906)
Nannie Edwards Green (d 1924)
Willie E (son of W H & N E Green)(almost unreadable)
Robert Llewellyn Edwards (1845-1909)
I have pictures if you want to add a memorial and photo request. Also, I had to chalk Willie's & Robert's markers to make them readable.

Could you please contact the cemetery for section and plot number. (410) 644-1900. They will only provide the first two for free. After that they charge per person requested. If you call they should provide the requested info without a fee. I can't call because they know me. Once you get this info, I will gladly run over there and see if I can find markers.

Don't know if you got memorials transferred from Nashville City Cemetery posted by the person who is no longer participating, but I sent a PM to an admin listing the links I'd like to have transferred, and it was done promptly. He also removed the note she'd left on her profile. Good luck.
