Carl & Eva
Went there today and got a photograph with my smartphone that puts the gps on the photo. Yea, it's Gilson. You really had me going. BTW, Carl and Eva's daughter married my cousin.

RE: Carl and Eva Buck
Absolutely sure. They are in Gilson. When we went to look for some Duncan's in the Gilson cemetery, there it was just a tad west of the Duncan's. We did not go to Maquon that day. Carl and Eva are direct ancestor's of our cousin Cherry Hanson (Rollie's wife), and she has other relation in Gilson as well. Carl and Eva's headstone is in the north east section of Gilson and just a short way from the circle road in the cemetery.

McWilliams headstones
Hi Jenni. You have submitted several McWilliams headstones in the Maquon Cemetery, and we would like to submit them to Ancestry.com if that would be alright with you. We are in the habit of placing on every photograph submitted to Find a Grave the name of the submitter, and their contributor number as well. We definitely like to give credit where it is due, and where you have done extensive headstone research, placing your name on the photograph is the least we can do. Is this okay with you? Nancy G.

Del Gran
First James River Norsk Lutheran Cemetery
Jenny, you last assisted me in Feb 2011 with some additions/corrections to Burgins, think there were multiple "Walnut" cemeteries and I didn't know which was the correct one. I remember you as very helpful and thought of you when I was looking for an unbiased opinion from one that I greatly respect in the Find A Grave community of volunteers.

To make it easy, the photo in question is also my profile photo and whether you think it is appropriate to use as a Find A Grave cemetery photo for a cemetery that was abandoned and returned to farm land in 1940. The details follow but you may not need.

My great-grandfather, Nikolai Larson #14396933 drowned about 1881 and was buried in a cemetery that was abandoned and became farm land in 1940. His name and 11 others, appear on the WPA list dated Feb 1941 for First James River Norsk Lutheran Cemetery in rural Yankton County, SD.

Due to the lack of a physical or Find A Grave cemetery, another Find A Grave member created memorials in another cemetery with a similar name but in the wrong Township. Recently, I had 11 of these 12 Find A Grave memorials transferred to me and then created a new cemetery on Feb 19 and transferred the 11 memorials to the correct cemetery.

The history on the home page and Nikoli Larson's memorial #14396933 is a "work in progress". It started as an explanation on my great-grandfather's memorial and I am in the process of "cleaning it up" to provide a good history and explanation on the cemetery home page with something to be added to all 11 and maybe the 12th whose descendant I am in touch with who is an Olsberg, Find A Grave member "Corey in Nebraska" with documentation that his great-grandfather was buried beside my great-grandfather.

Here is the problem, I wanted a nice photo for the cemetery home page. I found what I thought was appropriate, licensed the photo, and added a caption for this cemetery. However, Find A Grave is rejecting my photo submission for the cemetery as "inappropriate" and suggests that I submit a photo of the main gate, cemetery sign, monument, etc. Obviously none of these exist, not even sure anyone can locate the cemetery any closer than Jamesville Township. Each township consists of 36 sections, each measuring one square mile or six miles square. So, the "cemetery" is somewhere within a 36 squire mile area.

Sorry to bother you, but I have high regards for your dedication to this effort, and would appreciate your opinion and suggestions.

RE: Epsie
Sorry, haven't been back on findagrave since I pulled all my photos.

I am a Farris, Thomas and Clemmie are my GGparents. Fulton Faris is my GUncle.

Epsie Burgin is my GGGmother through Ada Brown and Mamie Cartwright.

I was told to pull all my photos and whoever had my family would not let me have them even though they were not related. There were other cemeteries I had photographed in Delaware, Tenn, Alab, Miss, TX, S. and N. Carolina which the same thing happened. I could add my photos to their cemeteries, but not own my family plots.

Some emails were very nasty, so I gave up.
