Dear J Hardaway; I assume you are a descendant of Samuel Miller. Unfortunately, this Confederate Hero is buried in an Unknown & Unmarked Grave in Vicksburg City Cemetery adjoining Soldiers Rest. would you be interested in placing a V A Memorial Stone in his honor. James Earl (Sam) Price

|John Mallory Land||Rebecca LLOYD & William S. LLOYD|
Hi - I see that you submitted photo requests on Mems. #135564316 & #135548765 for Rebecca LLOYD & her son William S. I have been working on this but so far have not had any success. Since they are buried in the Old Cemetery section, the Sexton's office has no record of specifically where they are buried. It appears their graves are not identifiably marked, and unless I can find a family member of theirs in the Old Section whose grave is marked, it is unlikely we will be able to determine where the graves are. But I will keep looking. I wondered if you are related or connected in any way to Rebecca or William? I am preparing an application for a headstone from the Veterans Administration for Col. John Forsyth IVERSON and I need authorization from a family member (it doesn't matter how distant or indirect, and they do not require documentation for it). Since his sister was married to William, anyone kin or connected to him or his mother could authorize. If you happen to know of anyone, please let me know - thanks! Sorry for the delay in replying. I'm not receiving messages from Find A Grave to let me know I have messages. I'll check into that.
Anyway, thank you for your reply and letting me know about John W Lee and the error in the history book. Perhaps it would be useful to other researchers for you to make a note on the memorial as to why your information is correct.
I was hoping these Lees might lead me to my 2g grandfather Andrew P Lee who m1 2g grandma Anna L Reeve and m2 Melvina Hawk.
Alas I still have not found their burial memorial. Best Wishes, Rose

Allegedly there is such a thing. A few years ago I had a research volunteer confirm the birth record at the Wetzel County courthouse. If I recall correctly, there was no actual birth certificate, but there is an entry in the birth register with his name, date, and parents.

I have made the addition of the obituary to the memorial and noticed you left a flower indicating that he is your uncle Ernest. If you would like me to transfer these two memorials to you I will be happy to do so. I am not related but am just trying to record the cemetery on the site. More than happy to transfer memorials to family members. If there are any other memorials in Hillcrest that I manage that are relatives just send me a transfer request and I will be happy to do so.

I have deleted the memorial. Apparently the hospital's records weren't accurate in regard who was buried in this cemetery. This is about the tenth time I've been contacted about this cemetery. However, I am glad that it did lead to finding him in the correct cemetery. Thanks for letting me know!

Would like to identify Daniel Harris Hunt (s/o ?) 1804, GA-?(#12547130), m. Lucretia Cannon (buried ?). It's interesting if he would have been the younger s/o Michael "Curtis" Hunt (prob. Mary Ann Dixon) and was born after Henry Harrison Hunt (m. Nancy May Ann Harp). Samuel J. Hunt, C.S.A., (m. Martha Elmira "Mattie" Rivers, d/o William Green and Barbara Burkhalter (Hutchinson) Rivers. Also buried there is a Jasper M. Simmons, 1845-1905 (#34258525), s/o ?. Diana Cannon is the contributor Daniel Harris Hunt and Martha Elmira "Mattie (Rivers) Hunt (buried?). Also looking for a possibility of the Coulter and maybe Rosser families having connetions. My Hunts were also related to the Harris, Rivers, Simmons and Hanocck families VA and GA.

The Booth and Curtis families of Hancock Co., GA. Daniel Booth (m. Ruth Anderson, d/o Dabney Anderson), s/o Zachariah Booth (m. 1st. Anna Curtis (1697-1733 d/o unk. Curtis) and Sarah Gilbert). Their sons 1. John Booth, "RWS" (#57830385), m. Mary Ann Flannigan, 07 May 1821; and 2. Zachariah Booth (m. 1st., Penelope Patterson and 2nd., unk. Hunt. Their daughters, 3. Mary Booth (m. unk. Hunt) and 4. Edwina Melinda "Dicey" Booth, #44794852 (m. Maj. Charles Abercrombie). Wonder if Rebekah's "maiden name" was Booth (w/o John Hunt (s/o unk. Hunt) and the mother of Michael "Curtis" Hunt.

Yes, my Hunt family (direct lineage) had a connection to the Boddie family. Have an idea Michael "Curtis" Hunt must have a connection to my Hunt family of Hancock County. This is all I know and not aware of a Bible. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks you so much. Richard and I share the Young family line, he is my distant cousin. He toured me in the home several years ago. I would very much like to have the photos. I know others are buried there and had hoped this year to return and look again.

Julie, thanks so much. I would appreciate managing the Young Cemetery. I am related to most who are buried there and have visited several times. My Great-Great-grandfather once owned the old Young Hotel across the street and lived in the old log cabin that was moved to the Young home. (log home removed last time I visited)
Again thanks for transferring this cemetery for me to manage. I have a great deal of information I can add.
