|Kami Potter||John Kroft & Elizabeth (Reed) Kroft|
Thank you so very much for posting the headstone photos of my g g grandfather John Kroft and his family.
John was in the war of 1812. His draft card has his name spelled "Krafft." But, I was happy to be able to find it. :D
My father was his great grandson, and these photos you posted were so helpful for including in my family genealogy research.
I really appreciate it.

Sorry I couldn't find any of the tombstones you requested, the cemetery is covered in vines and sage grass. We spent a long time searching the area for all the remaining tombstones and taking photos of all of them, some are broken by vandalism, some are sinking by the land moving naturally, some of the graves are only marked by sand rocks, but thankfully some are still in good shape.

Bryon, Hopewell Cemetery is abandoned, and has not been used for many decades. I have visited and explored, with help from friends, and there are no headstones in the cemetery. There are sunken places and native sandstone as markers. But there is nothing to photograph.

You are very welcome Bryon. I also added a photo of his daughter Maria's marker, which is to the immediate left of Daniel's. It could be very easy to miss these; they were both covered by grass and clover. If you return to Sand Hill, face 3rd Street with the flagpole to your back and they will be at approximately a 30-45 degree angle to your left, in one of the first rows from the flagpole (away from the hill side of the cemetery). I remember them being there because my husband and I found them as we were about to cross the center area where the flagpole is. Cynthia

I don't know if you noticed already, but I found Thomas's first wife, Mary Mcfarland there as well. I posted her memorial and the picture of her marker, which unfortunately, is missing it's bottom half.
