I had requested a photo of his marker at Trinity...The individual that went to take the photo could not locate his grave and contacted the cemetery office for instructions. They were told that there were no records to prove or establish that Joseph was buried at Trinity. Transferring the burial to the Hopewell site might be a good option. I appreciate your help!

I have requested a grave marker photo of Joseph, a memorial that you have created in the Trinity Cemetery located in Randolph County, NC. They have responded that the cemetery has no record of his burial. What evidence do you have that he is buried there. I would appreciate any assistance.

I checked, and it doesn't look like there is any way I can do anything about the "two" listings for him under the siblings column----outside of actually deleting the entry itself, which I wouldn't want to do.
Maybe Find A Grave could fix it, but the times I've emailed them, they never got around to doing what I had requested. But maybe I sent my message to the wrong email address. (It looks like they have several email addresses.)
It is strange that since the entries got merged together, that they just don't show up as one entry. I wish there was a way we could just pick up the phone and call them sometimes!!!
I'm puzzled too!!!

|Faye McCranie||Oscar Speas & Minnie Fleming|
Hi, I am intrigued by the family photo of Oscar, Minnie & their children. I have 2 photos in my possession that I have been searching for the identity for about 10 years. They were in my parents old photo collection that I ended up with after their deaths. Sadly the only info on the photos are "Richlands Va" taken in front of a tiny church. The couple bears a striking resemblence to Oscar & Minnie. There are 2 girls in the photo with them and the other photo is of the older girl by herself. 2 different people have attached this photo that I have to their own tree on ancestry.com but, sadly they are "private" trees and I have yet to get a reply when I send a message. I appreciate any help you can offer.

Even though there's no Bethania as a city listing for Stokes County, it should be in there and Find A Grave will add it for you. Just send them a note explaining that at one time Bethania in Forsyth County was once part of Stokes County before 1849 and that they should also show it in Stokes County. Most of the locations (townships, towns, etc) come from Find A Grave members anyway so they'll add it.

Please elaborate a little bit further. The cemetery has been damaged over the last 80 years. There are burials which are no longer recognizable.

Really, no particular picture. I'd just love to have any scan of the old guy. Lucy I have a photo or two in my marriage photo book from the early 1980s.
Do you know if their old farm is still in the hands of a family member? I haven't been there for about 55 years! I wondered where the place was, but only yesterday realized I've driven past it many times.
A daughter, I have reason to believe, lives not far away. I intend to visit her. I'm hoping to learn what happened to Ora and Lucy's parents and about any surviving family for Ora. I want to discuss old times.

My grandmother was a foster mother to Lucy Adams Speas, the wife of Clarence Jeff Speas. Also Ora Adams.
Lucy came to my wedding. I am very interested in seeing photos of Jeff and Lucy.
Are you connected, since you provided a photo?
(once of NJ, now in Nelson County, Virginia)

|Lyneva Mitchell Grauberger||RE: Westmoreland connection|
I found on someone's tree on Ancestry.com that Alexander Westmoreland (b. abt 1743 in Dinwiddie Co., VA and d. Aft 1801 in Stokes Co., NC) was FIRST married to Sarah Taylor, who was born 1744 in Stokes Co, NC and died 1793 in Stokes Co., NC. She married him before 1769. They had no children.
He must have divorced her, because he SECOND married Anne Nipper on 20 Aug 1775 in Stokes Co., NC. She was born 1745 in Brunswick Co. VA and died Aft. 1801 in Stokes Co. NC.
They had nine children, John Robert, David Stephen, Alexander, William W., Taylor Rush, Mary, Thomas, Harbard, and Sarah.
The additional information you provided in your message to me was something I didn't have.
I don't know WHAT is factual about all this. Just another frustration while trying to trace people in my tree!
I have John R. Westmoreland being born 20 May 1773 in Brunswick Co., VA and the next child David Stephen being born 01 Mar 1775, so either these birthdates are wrong, or the date of marriage for Alexander and Anne is wrong. OR, these two children are of the marriage of Alexander and Sarah.

|Lyneva Mitchell Grauberger||Westmoreland connection|
Jessie, I see you have a connection to the Westmorelands who are buried in the Westmoreland Family Cemetery in Winston-Salem, Forsyth Co., NC. I do, also, and I need to communicate with you!
I am having difficulty getting everyone placed properly in my tree. My main concern is if Alexander Westmoreland (1743-1798) was married to Anne Nipper. Most of what I have found indicates that to be true. But I also have found evidence that he was married to Sarah Taylor.
Do you know anything about Anne Nipper?
