RE: King Family
Hey, Cousin ... Nice to meet you, too! I absolutely love what you've done with our great great grandparents' memorials. I have contacted the person who is maintaining Mary Pauline's memorial and am hoping to get answers soon. My advice would be to ask for a transfer, since you are a direct descendant, and then change it back to how you had it before it was merged. I live in Norfolk, VA (where all of my family lives), but coincidentally, I moved here from Houston in 2011 after a 10-year stay. Here's a bit of interesting information: During WWI, my grandfather, Jerome Danforth King, assumed an alias, Michael Thomas Burke, married Lula Mae Johnson Burke, and fathered a son, Michael Thomas Burke, Jr. in Imperial, CA. Then he moved back to Norfolk and died at only 44 years of age. My grandmother (mother of four girls) found out about his other family upon his death.

King Family
Hey, Kristina ...

Two of your memorials (William Hervey King and Mary Pauline King Newport Brown) are my great great grandparents! William and Mary's son James is my great, and James' son Jerome is my mom's dad. Are we related? Also ... When I clicked on Mary's link from William's memorial page, it took me to a "merged" memorial for Mary, which has her linked to the wrong spouse.

RE: Victoria Martin
Hi Kristina,
The church doors are kept locked to keep people out so I can't even run in to get dates, etc. for you. Part of the reason it's locked is because the crematuriam is connected to it in the back & that's kept off limits to the public as well. The "graves" inside are lined up & down the side walls inside, and range from an approx. size of 3"x6" to as large as 12"x12". Some of them are in the sanctuary and the rest are upstairs in the balconies. If I can manage to get in there I'll check for her husband as well. Actually, if I can get in there, I'm going to take as many pics as possible before they kick me out lol Have you checked out their website map yet?

Take care,
Sharon Lavash Hawkins

RE: Victoria Martin
Hi Kristina,
I saw your request today from Mt Auburn Cemetery for:
Victoria Lindstrom Martin (Nov., 1881 - 1958)
Her marker is located inside of the Bigelow Chapel, Columbrium, Col.2. It's easy to find, but the cemetery as a rule doesn't let anyone in there to take photographs because it's used for services so often. I've managed to get in there once in the past 4 years, but I'll see what I can do. I'm not going to take the request until or if I can get the pic for you - keep your fingers crossed :)
Thanks - Sharon Lavash Hawkins

RE: John Jacobs
Thanks for the link to that book. It was very interesting. William Ira Halstead, Pauline Jacobs husband, also had an entry in the book. My father had told me the story of George Jacobs entering the war at a young age, but it was told to me that his first wife had left him not died. That was all passed down verbally. You never now how many times the story changes. I'd love to get any more information on John Jacobs. I don't have a lot of information on that part of the family. Pauline died before my dad was born. Currently I'm not a member of but I'm thinking about it. Thanks again for the info, cuz.

RE: John Jacobs
I found it and others, also a little further down there is a cemetery in a old fence that I took photos as well.I am sure there are others in the woods with John Jacobs that I couldn't see because it is so thick and grown up.I am going back the next day it stops raing and look real good for other headstones.
