Oopsy - In previous message, I meant to say I didn't know for sure if he had a headstone in Beaver Dam City Cemetery still. Kind of sounded like I meant Omaha.

|Sheila||RE: George Shepard|
Hi Oscar - It's correct that George drowned at Fox Lake in Wisconsin in 1865, but several years later his remains were moved from there and re-interred at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Omaha. I wasn't sure if he still had a headstone there, so put up a photo request and thanks to a photo volunteer there it was. Since he still has a headstone at Beaver Dam City Cemetery, in Wisconsin, that memorial is considered a cenotaph. His children need to be linked to the one in Omaha, so thanks for changing John's link. Even though his headstone in Omaha says he died in 1905, that is most likely the year of his re-interment, although the Beaver Dam Cemetery records indicate it was 1907. I'm not sure if it was a typing or transcription error, but I will check into it further. When I was trying to figure out the re-interment I found the book excerpt regarding the drowning and that is what's on the memorials. Today I just added an explanation of the re-interment on the Wisconsin memorial, so it would be clearer for anyone else who might need to make links. Are you a descendant of John? Please feel free to contact me. Can always send message through a memorial as well. Take care. Hope this makes things clearer.

I am so glad you have located her grave. I have been searching for a long time. This is my husbands great-great grandmother. I have the listing for her husband George & his second wife. I am traveling now but will write again to see how we can link them together. Jone

I am confused on the infant daughter of Amos Manford James and Julia Ann Larkin James. Her dates are 1866-1866, but that would have made Julia 7 years old at her daughter's birth.

Thank you for your comment about the link.....I meant to go back in and connect him as Barbara Netcher's husband, as they are all my family, but ran out of time and did not get right back to it. I have always hoped that someone more directly from my Great-Grand-Aunt's family would add him and place his biography....are you related in any way? If you are not, would you consider a transfer to my care? My #47311015.
Thank you.... and I commend you for all of your fine work on behalf of all of us on findagrave.com.
