Louise Warren Dempsey
Louise Warren Dempsey's [FAG53265991] Texas death certificate #42288, states her parents as Frank Warren and Evie Scribner. George Warren was her Uncle. Frank and Evie Warren do not have grave markers. I have created memorial pages for them. Family records and their death certificates state they were buried in Lonesome Dove Cemetery. These Warrens are my mother-in-law's family.
Please correct her parents. Thank you for your work with Find A Grave.

re:William Rushing 1723-1781
You have a note on his memorial #48347757 CONSTRUCTION SITE

Am I to understand that the family cemetery is now a construction site? If so, do you know if the bodies were moved to another location? Or were they putting buildings right over Revolutionary War dead? William would be my
6th great-grandfather. Any information you might have to offer would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

WEEMS Family info/question
I see you have a "Vann D. Weems" born 1890 Texas listed as a son to WIlliam L. Weems and wife Sallie. Actually, his name is Vord Haily "Jack" Weems. He married into my family. I would like to know the source for the name Vann D. Weems you list as well as do you have any family information for him...I am assuming not, but asking anyway.

Vord Haily Weems was married to Winnie Fern Newman about 1919. Winnie was my grandmother's younger sister. Winnie and Vord had 5 children, only 2 of which lived to adulthood. Vord is found listed most often in Texas records as "Vord Haily" or "V. H."...however in one death certificate for their first child that was stillborn, he is listed as "Jack". I have some communication from a couple of his descendants that indicates that he went by Jack.

Vord and Winnie seem to have divorced sometime between 1930 and 1935. He and Winnie are on the 1930 census living in San Antonio, then Winnie is living with her 2nd husband Harry E. Olander in 1940 in California. This census indicates that she and Harry were living in Galveston, Texas on April 1, 1935.

The descendants I have been in touch with tell me that Vord apparently moved to Arizona and they do not know what happened to him after that. If this is true, I may have found him living near Flagstaff on the 1940 census...he is the right age and born in Texas and married to a lady from Oklahoma which all seems possible...but I am not sure it is him. He is listed as Jack Weems only and I can find nothing more about him by that name or by Vord. He seems to disappear from all records after the 1940 census.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hello Jaybee!

I am new to this. I noticed you created a grave memorial for my grandfather John Taylor. I have also noticed you have been doing your research like myself! I also found that the Wilcoxson (Willcoxson, Wilcockson..ect.) ties into my tree as well.
I am trying to find more information on my grandfather. Unfortunately, John Taylor is such a common name it's hard to filter through everyone of them. Do you by chance have any information on his dad and mom? I haven't had any luck on

Thank you.
Cynthia Taylor

I see that you have left some messages on some of the Albert Ward family's find a grave sites. Are you family? I am his grandson's wife and the mother of the last two of his namesakes. Researching both his and my ancestries.

R. Herbert Cates
Found R. Herbert Cates by other Cates in the Liberty Hill Cemetery, but do not find him listed as a son of the Rev. Richard Francis Cates or either of his two wives. So can't link him to anyone. Can you?

PS. Do you want me to transfer the Cates I own to in this cemetery to you?

William Thomas Cates
I uploaded a picture of William Thomas Cates to you, and I apologize, I thought it would have been subject to your review, but it posted on his memorial. I did not intend to do anything myslef to a memorial that you manage, I was hoping to be providing you with a picture of him, and for you to decide if you wanted it there.
Feel free to delete it if you don't want it there, and please accept my apologies for (unknowingly) posting to your managed site.

Benjamin Cutbirth
Hi Jaybee,
Would you consider changing this pioneer's status to famous? There is much documentation that he would have been just as famous as Daniel Boone had he been literate. He was one of four white men to see the Mississippi River for the first time among other accomplishments. (you can Google him for more information) I would appreciate it. He one of my fiancee's Great Grandfathers and we have actually visited the cemetery where he is buried. (there was no headstone marked...just stones left) Thank you.

Phelps& Laura Vernon
Jaybee, I've been doing an extensive research on the Vernon family. I've exhausted all my avenues on my search for Phelps & Laura, (memorial #'s 8926752 & 8926751). I noticed on their memorials, that you had posted Phelps & Laura as an Uncle and Aunt. Can you tell me about them and let me know if they had other children other than Effie, (the baby that they lost.) I did find on the 1880 census that they had a daughter, R.R. born in 1879. Maybe you might even know her name. Any information would be helpful. You can email me at: if you prefer. Thanks, Kathy Edwards

I haven't been on this site in quite a long time and just noticed your request to transfer the Cates family files that I uploaded. I would be very glad to do that. Do you know the specifics on how to do it?

RE: John Willcockson
The below information provides more on John Willcoxson and his origins.

This source makes him English and not Welsh. It gives his father as George and gives George's home as Cossal, England.

Kentucky Pioneers: Ancestry of Gordon Beck
Updated November 16, 2007
Gordon Lee (Wilcoxson) Beck

The Lawrence Elliot Book "The Long Hunter" 1976 has a lot of information on Willcoxsons son-in-law Ben Cutbirth, but according to my notes he has Willcoxson as a German immigrant tavern keeper. I only checked this book out of the library so I do not have a handy copy to look up his reference. He does say that Cutbirth is Welsh. gives Willcoxson as a Scottish name.

Let me know if you ever unravel this web.
