Thank you for trying, if you do get access that will be great. Do you know if in the mid to late 1800's was this property called Airville?

RE: James Cemetery
I just did a bit more digging and these burials with the photo requests are not in this cemetery.
These three burials are in a different James family cemetery located off Rt. 14 (left side) before Rt. 611 on the right (heading from Gloucester to Mathews). Looks like it's on private property back off the road near the water.

RE: James Cemetery
The cemetery book (Tombstones of Mathews Co.) says the James family cemetery with the photo requests is located at the end of Rt. 646 (Tax map #39, A 88). There should be about 30 headstones. Hope this helps! So many small cemeteries in Mathews!

Sara :)

James at Old Point
Thanks for info...I went by information on death certificates as being buried in "Smith-James or just James cemetery, family cemetery near Fitchetts or Moon" BUt obviously if you found same people in Old Point I will move my memorials to that cemetery if you think that is accurate. Maybe it's just a Smith-James family plot WITHIN Old Point perhaps?

Smith-James cemetery....
Tom, leave it to you ! you found the Smith-James cemetery. Is it big? part of another cemetery perhaps or in someone's back yard? Is there an actual sign there identifying it by name? I thought maybe it had another name besides just a private cemetery. Let me know what you discovered. I'm curious and I thank you for pursueing these requests! much appreciation!

Hi Thomas, Maybe I should send you my requests directly since you are SO VERY NICE about trying to fill them. Since you took the photos first, why don't you just go ahead and contact the person who 'claimed' the requests letting them know you already have them. It would save them having to go there & look for them too. that's fair.

James and Murray stones
Thank you Thomas for giving of your time to find and photograph their gravestones. GLad you were able to find Williams Cemetery. I have several other memorials there - Williams and Borums. Did you happen to take any additional photos while there? Shall I submit photo requests for others so you can fill? thank you very much!

James vs Shaw
Hi again Thomas, thanks for more photos. Take a look at memorial 108586358 for Georgia Armistead James. There are two photos posted, the second one needs to be deleted , the second Georgia is married to Shaw and her memorial already had a photo of stone. I can see how easily could be confused since both Georgia A. Thanks for taking and removing. you are tenacious!

Hi Thomas! looks like you have spent a day in the cemeteries! Thanks so much for all the James family headstone photos. I did get a filled photo request email notice for Harriet Miller James mem 108655076, however oddly there was no stone photo posted. Maybe it just didn't upload. I have several more I'll be requesting perhaps now that you've found some, they are all buried nearby one another. Your time spent to do this is much appreciated!
