RE: Photo Request Christina Crouse
I found the grave today, and downloaded
the picture. I emailed www.findagrave
and told them that there was two listings
for the same cemetery. One has 18 interments
and the other 13. Maybe they will combine
them.
Thanks

Photo Request Christina Crouse
According to Alleghany records, Christina
Crouse is buried in the Henry Crouse cemetery,
hwy 18 north of Sparta and not in the
Sparta Cemetery.
Please correct obituary and I will go and
take the picture.

Charles & Catharine (Frank) Gunn
Just wondering how you connected the family links for Charles and Catherine's children. For the 1870 census for Point Pleasant (Warren County) Illinois there is a Mary A. Gunn (8 yrs. old) listed with her parents but no Jennie or Charles.

Cox Cemetery
The photo of "Cox Cemetery" in rural Lawrence County Indiana does not look at all like the entrance of the Cox Cemetery that I am familiar with. It is in a heavily wooded area on private property. Perhaps there is more than one "Cox Cemetery"?

RE: Mary Isabell Gardner
Good luck in finding the Whiteside Cemetery! I was near there in January (live in Colorado now) and might be able to locate it. You have to skirt around the edge of a field and then back into the trees. My great uncle Walter Sissom once took me there in the 1970's.

RE: Mary Isabell Gardner
My gt. gt. grandmother, Rebecca Jane Ogle Sissom, married L.D. Gardner Sr. on October 5, 1873 in Wilson County, KS and he died October 28, 1878 in Elk County according to her pension application several years later. She was denied the pension (for husband William Sissom's service) because she had married Gardner.

This L.D. was probably born about 1813 according to the 1870 census-- his first wife Elizabeth was still living then.

RE: Mary Isabell Gardner
Thank you! I have updated the information for this Mary Isabelle. She was my gt.gt. aunt and married William Gardner, and a few weeks later her widowed mother, Rebecca Jane Ogle Sissom, married L.D. Gardner. I think this is the L.D. who was married to Elizabeth first. I have also tried to find the grave of L.D Gardner. I wonder if he could be in the overgrown Whiteside Cemetery (see my memorial for William Sissom at Weakley Cemetery) I also know there were several men by that name. I am likewise confused by the William L. Gardner and the William A. Gardner. Were they cousins?

Are you related to this woman, buried in the Weakley Cemetery at New Albany, KS? She was my gt. gt. aunt and I have additional info on her and would like to link her to her parents.

I am NOT a relative, but I am a native of Elk County and have been using the Elk County History book published in 1979 to add family information and link information of families I know in the area. Thank you for all you do to promote family genealogy through Find-A-Grave!

Thanks for making the changes. It's not necessary to transfer the memorial, there may be somebody closer in relationship who might someday want to get involved.
