RE: Whedon-and all connections
You're welcome, Liz. I "do cemetery" every sunny day during my time in Vermont, by which I mean the VT/NY border.

RE: Rod Tillman
I have access to the new burial locations for person's at Memorial Park and enter them when available in hopes that family will find them. When I read your brother's obit, I found the family links and made them. Seeing the flower you had left on your parent's pages, I knew you were related and transferred your brother's page to you. I tried to send e-mail to you twice as you suggested but I get messages back saying "The recipient server did not accept our requests to connect".

RE: JB Whitbeck
You're very welcome. I also tried to add pictures and add captions to previous photos I had taken at that lot...and added photos to a few other memorials there.

There is a memorial that was created by Butterfly~Kisses for a supposed son of JB Whitbeck, having the same name (Memorial #76730242) which I think is likely from an entry in the Mt Hope Interment Records for "Jeremiah B Whitbecks Inft" and is probably really for their daughter Mary Alida, as the details seem to correspond. I wrote an edit to Butterfly~Kisses suggesting this.

Given you have been researching the family, what do you think?

RE: Your interesting Ault Cem, material
Hi, It is fine to quote me, giving credit where possible. We also have a copy of my wife's great uncle's book "From Ox-Carts to Jet Planes" by Perry Ault. Perry lived to 102, and though he moved to the area near Eagle around 1900, he describes many of the people who lived near Turkey Creek from 1872 to ~1900 and later. I also found a number of items in a Golden, CO, newspaper which had historical editions available through Genealogy Bank (an inexpensive online resource).

Harvey Marion ("Bud") Ault and Eugene Ault: (credit Ault Family)
Frank Ault and extended family: (credit Ault Family)
Corporal Ralph Ault: (credit Ault Family Collection, restoration by Gerald Hawkins)

I can make any or all of these photos available if you like.

Gerald Hawkins.

RE: Ault Cemetery - Jeff Co CO
Hi, My wife is an Ault. She is great-granddaughter of Frank Ault, who is in the Ault Cemetery. Her parents (Ralph & Mildred Ault) are memorialized at the cemetery. (Her grandparents are at the big cemetery in Littleton). Liz is related in some way or another to about half of the people in the cemetery. Aults married into the Biggars, Freemans, Maples, Crows, Wilsons and more. Andrew Ault came from Ohio and lived in Wisconsin and Nebraska before moving to the Turkey Creek area in 1882. (Tressa Ault had moved there one or two years earlier with her husband, Jacob Freeman). Several years later they invited Andrew's brother, Frank, and his 10 surviving children to join them. In the winter before Frank built his own cabin and before some of the older ones married, they all lived in Andy's cabin, about 20 Aults under one roof. Two even had the exact same name (Cora Edna Ault)! At one point the old Medlen school (which still stands) had 12 students, 10 of whom were related to the Aults. It was a longstanding tradition to spend memorial day having a big group for cleanup and picnic at the cemetery and we have a few of the very old pictures. My wife did this the years that she lived in Colorado. My wife and I will be visiting the cemetery next week to see our son, Scott, who is buried there.

RE: Ault Cemetery - Jeff Co CO
Mary F. Ault was the daughter of Andrew and Elizabeth Ault, born July 21, 1872. I think she was born when Andrew & family lived in Nebraska but it may have been Wisconsin. She was one of the sisters of Frederick Ault, who donated the land for the cemetery from his land claim. She married a Mr. Hennessey - I don't have his Christian name at hand - and is buried as Mary F. Hennessey, 1872 - 1942. I have a copy of her burial permit but not her death certificate. She died March 11, 1942 of cerebral hemorrhage, in Denver.

RE: Laura Pauline (Tillman) Rowland
Hello Liz:
I figured you might want your Aunt and Uncle so I updated their memorial and linked them to their parents based on the names that you gave me.
AND ... transferred them to you.

It is always good to see family go home with family.

Thank you for the information.

You're welcome...Glad that I could help. It's a bit of mystery why almost noone in that plot has an entry in the Mt Hope Interment Records. I found their location on Dick Halsey's list.

Hi Liz.

Thanks for this additional information. Can you give me the memorial # for Mary - I can't seem to find a memorial I've made for her...?

RE: Witbeck burials at Papscanee Island
Rensselaer county records listed this cemetery. It is a different cemetery that is known to exist on that island. It is unknown generally where it actually is. It is possible there was a mass relocation or it may have been near shore which may have moved inland. There are Whitbecks listed as being buried in the Van Rensselaer family cemetery also.

HaHa! You have to be on the page of Lewis and then click on the edit button top right. Can't imagine why it wouldn't open for you.

I love getting every little bread crumb, but would love even more if you would please send this through the EDIT button on his page, which will take me right to the page instead of having to hunt for it.

The Burdick Family - Meeker
Hi, Liz...please forgive my lack of contact. We are moved and settled into our new home and love it here, but have been dealing with some new family issues, so I haven't been as involved with my research as I would like. I'm trying to get back into the swing and I'm just now getting started sorting through all of the stuff that Mom left (could take quite awhile...she collected lots of stuff...LOL!) I'm reasonably sure that I will come across more obits, new photos and assorted items that you may be interested in. You are also interested in Ballard history, aren't you? Our Ballard family bible (from Charley Orville Ballard and Hilda Charlotte Burdick Ballard) is in the possession of one of my cousins...He and his wife visited us here in Vegas a couple of weeks ago and he has offered to send it to me. If I do get it, I would be happy to share any info that I find with you.

I hope you and yours are doing well and in good health...

Cynthia (Cindy) Smith

Thanks for the encouragement, Liz. I've received two messages with notes and will get to them over the weekend. Jim returns to California on Sunday, so we've got family commitments for the next couple of day. But after that, things should open up a bit and I'll have time to sit down and think about what you've written.
