RE: Andrew Jackson Gilkey
Not related at all. I like to put "flags" on Veteran's graves. My dad, WWI, is in a National Cem. in N. California and my brother, KIA Korea, is in Arlington. Thanks again for letting me know 3 flags were placed yesterday. That was not meant to be. Good luck with your genealogy.(~.~)

RE: Andrew Jackson Gilkey
Many thanks for letting me know there were 3 flags. I only put one on there. I've removed all of them now, and will try tomorrow to put ONE on there. This happens occasionally on this site for some reason. Appreciate your thoughtfulness in letting me know.

RE: Resin Farmer
A plop is when someone registers a known burial in a cemetery where the person is not buried. Sadly, it destroys the credibility of the website, which has the sole purpose of registering KNOWN burials. It's getting very frustrating to Gravers like me who want to help people but find themselves being expected to do the research to determine if the burial is a valid record.

In any case, I wasted my time at Dale Cemetery when I could have been helping someone else. I went to another cemetery to fill a different photo request and found Rezin. I noticed in your extra information that Lydia was probably buried in Ohio. Well, Lydia, Rezin and two of their children, one named Gordon and the other that I can't decipher are buried in PINE GROVE CEMETERY in Outagamie County.

Sorry to vent at you but it is becoming very discouraging to several of my graving friends and me because of people who won't take a few minutes to verify their information before registering it as a fact. There are other websites to record genealogies where you can erroneously record information in your own tree.

Joanne

Dupe deleted. I have found on Find A Grave that if you are doing a search and you put in both the DOB & DOD, it comes up "not found" if there is a page already created with one of the dates missing!

Mamie Carroll
Could you please tell me if Laurel Hill Baptist and Maple Grove Church cemetery are one and the same? Mamie Carroll was my great grandfather's child by his second marriage. I found her obituary in the newspaper and that says she will be buried in Maple Grove Church Cemetery at Proffitt, Va. I am unfamiliar with the area and would like to know about this. Thank you so much for sharing. Tina

Thanks, but it's a bit late I removed a bunch of them they told me that when you enter a burial place unknown that a cemetery has to be determined and updated within 30 days. F.A.G. FAQ #146.

I will merge the memorials if she wants to. If she doesn't I will delete it.

Thanks for your advice

Inman how is haveing two memorails this confusing. It may be for some people who don't bother to read memorials but for those that do it can help them in many ways. There have been situations where I have asked someone to correct wrong information and they have flat out refused even when I have shown them proof that what I have said is right. I would also like to ask why you are so upset about something that doesn't matter and doesn't invole you. Just to let you know I know the person who manages the other Charles Massie memorial personally. I am sure that she doesn't mind and if she does the we would sort it our ourselves.

Sorry at the request of F.A.G. I had to remove Capt. Jack Jouett from Find A Grave because his burial place is unknown.

Inmand this memorial isn't a duplicate of 71147875 this is very differnt. Find a grave doesn't say you can only have one memorial for a person. There can be several memorials for one person. And personally I wasn't very impressed with 71147875. It didn't give any information regarding his life or anything. I thought that our ancestor deserved more. Any suggestions you have regarding this memorial are welcomed but this is not a duplicate.

I hope to hear from you soon,
Robert

RE: Virginia Marshall
I added her date of death using the edit function. It should appear in the list of edits on the new edit tab on your member page. Once you accept the edits it should appear on her memorial.

How about you come to Montana where I live? See Big Sky Country? My PA relatives moved to MT in the early 1900's and settled in a little town called Judith Gap. I grew up in Montana and moved to San Deigo about 15 years ago, then to CO Springs. Now I'm back in MT. I can't tell you how much the research you've done has helped me. Come to MT some time. Pam
