RE: Photos of Hugh Scott Patterson and Anna C, Van Etten Patterson
Well, I'm excited! thanx already.
So, they are yr. direct ancestors, too.
How cool is this!
Yes, I had noticed Wm. on the census also.
Those Van Ettens were so careful to have those 10 generations back in upper N.Y. state, I've always found it an anomaly that they didn't even make a record of Hugh Scott Patterson's mom and dad.
Happy travel,
Betty Tisdel

P.S. I've always wanted to investigate Franklin township, Penn. more carefully: the tax rolls before 1803 have some Pattersons.

Photos of Hugh Scott Patterson and Anna C, Van Etten Patterson
I am so grateful to you for posting those fine oval portraits of my 3rd great grandparents, and want first and foremost to express my appreciation for yr. work.
I have been on a search for record of Hugh's early life and his progenitors, even just their names, for many years.
Could I pay you to make and mail me slick (photographic) paper copies of these 2 portraits?
Can you give me a lead for tracing my ancestry back from Hugh?
You say he's born in Allegheny Co. Great!! Where does that information come from?
Of course, I'm eager for any details of their life there on their farm in Milton, and look forward to any info. you might be at leisure to send my way.
With thanks in advance, hoping this message finds you in good health and spirit,
Elizabeth C. Tisdel

RE: Best
Just think, those photos have now found their way to a direct blood relative after all this time.
The trip you got to take is for sure a dream trip that would thrill me as well. If it wasn't for lack of "money" I would hit the road for research without giving it a second thought. I do thank you again for your kindness.

John B. Ball
Hello -

I hope you don't mind, but I took the liberty of uploading a clearer version of the picture of John B. Ball on the memorial you created for him in the Hicksite Cemetery in Milton.

I own a copy of the book that the picture came from, (The Commemorative Biographical Record of Ulster County, New York. Chicago: J.H. Beers & Co., 1896) and have been scanning the pictures in. I also can send you the full text of his biography from that book if you are interested in it; you will need to provide me with an e-mail address for that.

Regards,
Mark Gossoo

Thank you! So far, it's the picture for Isaac Winans buried in Pricetown Cem. in Ohio. My husband descends from Isaac, his wife Eleanor DeLong, and their son John. Blessings on you!

May I please have your permission to print some of your photos for my family? Credit for the source would be included, and copies would be for personal use, not for publication. Thank you very much!
