Tim Miller
John Bird

John Bird - Memorial# 102695872 - is most definitely NOT the son of William Evelyn Byrd III and Elizabeth Hill Carter. Their son John Carter Byrd married Hannah Harrison, and they had no children.

With apologies,

Thank you first of all for the headstone photo that you provided for Find A Grave Memorial# 87430304.

I need to find out if you know for certain that that headstone is located in the Lumberport Cemetery because there is another memorial for the same person purportedly located in the Swiger Cemetery in Doddridge County.

Jennifer Wilt
Ms. Ritter
My name is Jennifer Wilt and I work for the Doddridge County Historical Society. I am doing research on the Irish railroad workers that moved into our area in the 1850s and 1860s.

I went to the State Archives in Charleston and made copies of Daniel and Cecelia Coyne's wills. I also copied the wills of other Irish families that lived in the Industrial area of Doddridge County at that time. There are names such as Hession, Whalen, O'Donnell, Shaughnessy, Malony; O'Conner and Conley.

On his Find A Grave memorial, you have Robert Michael Coyne as the 14th child of Daniel and Cecelia. I have him as the 9th of 14 children. I'm not saying you are wrong, you may have access to information that I don't have. I was just wondering if you know very much about this family.

I went to Saint Anne's (Long Run) Cemetery last fall and I was horrified at the way it has been abandoned. I am trying to put together a clean-up project for it this spring. We just had a clean-up day recently at the Blockhouse Hill Cemetery in West was very successful.

One thing I found particularly sad is that Daniel Coyne left everything to his wife, except for $200.00 that he set aside to "erect a fence around my peoples graves." I'm sure it was done, but it is in such horrible shape, that I'm afraid we will never find it.

These are the children I have for Daniel and Cecelia, in order that they were born:

Please feel free to contact me if you have any information you can share.

Thank you,
Jennifer Wilt

Patrick Joseph Duffy
James Duffy Death
Susan - James Duffy was my great Uncle and I have been interested in proof that he is buried in the Como Cemetery. There is a Duffy plot with several numbered markers, no names, that I believe is where he and six of his children are buried. Can you verify this? Would greatly appreciate any info you have on James and if interested I can give you names, dates of his family. Patrick Duffy

Hi Susan, I'm hoping you can help me. You posted a picture on Alexander Bowie memorial # 26829777.
First, thank you for the picture.
I am wondering if you know what the initials mean before each date on the grand children?

Thank you,

William E. Turner
Just reading through some of the work you have done on the Como Cemetary. Thank you for your efforts.

Was looking at William E. Turner -1863- 1895. He was my ggreat grandfather and his name was William Erasmus Turner and his son (my grandfather) was William Everett Turner. It is something that is often confused.

William Everett Turner, Sr. had a son named William Everett Turner, Jr. As you can see calling my grandfather "Jr." confuses my uncle's name. I think that my cousin is William Everett III

Again thanks for the all the hard work.

Mark Aschenbrenner
Question on John M. Ritter
Hi Susan,

I'm puzzled by the rank of captain. And his grave is not listed in the the Civil War vet's site. Is his memorial decorated GAR? Or has he been missed some how? I've found a record dated Dec 1863 with him listed 30yrs, farmer and married, this the year he registated appears to be in June. You show a child born feb 64, with his ten or eleven kids by the years 1850-1880. You seem to be the historial on him & his family. Wondering why not many civil war records on him with that rank.
Thanks MJA

Ritter, John & Nancy
Thanks Susan, you sure do nice work and have done a great job researching the Ritter family.

I'm taking a course on Picasa photo and hope to straighten up the photo work done on my WebTv in Point Pleasant cemetery. I had also enrolled in Photo Shop, but that was far more detailed than I wanted to learn, so dropped out.

Thanks for the stone Susan.

Are you still in AZ teaching?

WebTv just went out of bussiness 30th Sept, but I found a lady in Little Rock, AR who transferred my 79 websites, built over past ten years to Word Press host site, saving my 10MB of research.
