RE: George W Beardsley
The cemetery office did not know if there was a headstone or not. They advised the section, lot & grave number.... I searched the entire section and could not find headstone, so I ask the office to please mark Mr. Beardsley's grave for me to locate it. They did and I placed a remembrance on the area that he was buried. He does not have a headstone. If you would like to talk with the cemetery office their number is 330-971-8446.... they are very nice and I'm sure they will do their best to give you additional information. Regards, Cindy

Yes, I do -- see another EMMA LEWIS listed the book. She is EMMA JEAN LEWIS (b. 13 Nov 1965, d. 31 Aug 1988) in SECTION B, ROW 9, MARKER 3 in the CAIRO CEMETERY. Could this be the person you are searching for? Do you want this grave posted on your listing of "Find A Grave Memorial# 101700613"? If yes, I will take a photo and upload it for you. The dates differ from yours.

RE: Emma Mobley Lewis request
I read in "The Cemeteries Of Grady County, Georgia" (2005) an EMMA LEWIS (b. 06 APR 1895, d. 18 MAY 1963) buried at MARKER 6 on ROW 22 but in MYRTLE HILL CEMETERY. The next listing is an ARTHUR LEWIS (b. 02 AUG 1814, d. 20 DEC 1948) in that cemetery also. I do not see an EMMA LEWIS listed in CAIRO CITY CEMETERY or CAIRO CEMETERY. There is also an EMMA LORENE MOBLEY (b.10 SEP 1917, d.02 MAR 2005) that shares a double marker with HENERY FRANKLIN MOBLEY (b. 05 SEP 1913, d. 02 JAN 1975) that rest in MACEDONIA BAPTIST CHURCH CEMETERY on ROW 11, MARKERS 2 & 1, respectively. I will check in the book's ADDENDUMS. If you know an approximate location (N,S,E,or West) I will walk the cemetery and look if you believe they are here.

Thomas and Albert Edward Vowles
Someone was able to get under the tree after some of the foliage dropped this fall so I just posted two new pictures. Headstones after all!

The cemetery is very helpful when it comes to locating burial sites. They have a wonderful map system that allows pinpoint locations most of the time. Right next to Thomas is Albert if you haven't seen his picture, it is the same different name slightly to the right of Thomas

Nancy Halstead
Is Nancy Halstead related to Caleb? Is S.B. Halstead the child of Caleb? Checking on Ancestry it seems Caleb was married to a woman named Celine Eline Best.

RE: Scobie
You are very welcomed. Strange thing is, I wrote them down and thought well if I see them good, I happened to be looking for someone else and there they were right at my feet. I have never been to this cemetary since a family funeral back in 1979 but for some reason today I wanted to go there.

Hello! I wanted to write to you and let you know that I have photographed all headstones and posted them for Spring Grove. However, there are a few where the pictures were not good enough when I downloaded them but don't remember where they are to re-take them. If you know where Ms. Thompson is buried, please let me know and I'll go back out and see if I can find it and re-take the pictures. God Bless and thank you!

Pearl Scobie
I went to the cemetery and walked it. Found several Scobie's, but not Pearl Scobie. I talked on the phone to Peninsula Historical Society that keeps the records of the Cedar Grove Cemetery and they do not have a Pearl M. Scobie listed.
Sorry, but unable to get photo with the information you have provided.

I can scan the info I have, but I need your email address to send them.

Marlene sent me the info about where the stone is so I will go look around there this week and also let them know in the Office that he is buried there.

I forgot to mention that they didn't have any record of George William's parents either. But since they didn't have George in their records, that may not mean anything. If I can find out where his stone is from the person who posted it, I can go look around it and see if I can find anyone else.

I added all the pictures I took today. Apparently someone else added pictures for Emma and Elmer Kregenow.

George Vowles
Well it is interesting that someone posted the picture of the tombstone. They told me at the Richfield Twp. Offices that they had no record of his being buried there. Is it possible to find out where exactly she found the stone so I can tell them about it?

These are the stones I found (they were the only ones the Twp. Office said were there)

Anna Vowles 1895-1982 and husband DeForest 1884-1964

Emma E. Kregenow 1907-1902 and husband Elmer J. 1896-1971

Joseph L. Vowles July 12, 1844 - April 17, 1898
Mary E. Vowles Mar 17, 1846-June 23, 1922
John T. Barrett Nov. 5, 1842-June 28, 1877
These three are on the same monument and on the other side of the monument are some Kirbys.

I have copies of the cemetery plot cards, including cause of death and also some scans of the cemetery showing where they are. If you want to give me your address I can send them to you.

I will post the pictures soon as I get a chance.

I visited the cemetery on Easter Sunday. There was another Vowles but I didn't realize at the time that they might be related. The second one is located on the right hand section toward the back, near the hedges.

Ema Scobie Kregenow
Not sure what you mean about her birth date. She can't have been born 1857, did you mean 1957?

I will look for the tombstone next week. They have good records at the Township office so I will go there first.
