Joan Peters
RE: Catherine Ammondson
Thanks, Clint. I'll take a look at the marriage record as well. Catharine, born in 1894, died in 1974. There are no other Ammondsons in Sunnyside except for Gunder and Anna. And, of course, Catharine. Her gravestone reads "Beloved wife."

All three are together in the same section and plot.
Thanks for taking a look at the Marriage Records.
The Enzmann Archives, part of the Island County Historical Society, has obituaries. I'm the archivist there and will take a look to see if there are obits for Catharine, Anna and Gunder.

I'll also see if I can contact Sue Straight.
I live in Coupeville, WA a few miles away from Sunnyside Cemetery. Thanks for the good suggestions!

Best Regards,

Joan

Joan Peters
Identity of Catharine Ammondson
Clint, do you know what relation Catherine Ammondson (1894-1974) was to Gunder and Anna Ammondson? All three are buried in Sunnyside. Gunder was a Spanish American War veteran.
The Whidbey Island DAR chapter is currently working on a project to photograph all Civil War, Spanish American War and World War 1 veterans. I have not been able to find Katherine in a census where she was listed with her parents. Her dates suggest that she was a daughter of Gunder and Anna. There is no Census data that supports this hypothesis.
Thanks for taking the time to read this even if you are unable to assist.
Best Regards,
Joan Peters, CG

This is not my family, so I am unable to answer your question. My friend should have all of the photos for Peace Lutheran Cemetery uploaded by this week and it might say something on his stone that will assist you in your quest.

Hey Master Chief!
I didn't recognize the name! Thanks for transferring one of my fellow Whidbey SAR memorials. It was a sad day for us that September 11, 1980.

Go to my findagrave bio and look at my Virtual Cemeteries. Unfortunately you will find many Seawolves there.

Again, Thanks my fellow Veteran and Seawolf!

Sure thing ... sory about that. The first time I tried to do that for your profile it directed me to your e-mail address which is why I did it that way. Not sure why it did that LOL.

I will make sure to use Edit from now on :-)
