Find A Grave Memorial# 36587291
You have a link to her husband "Jessie H Brown" Find A Grave Memorial# 36586776. Jesse was my grandfather (my mother's father) and his first name is "Jesse" and is pronounced as "Jess." I have asked the owners of his entry to correct it to the actual spelling of his name. I tried to contact the owner of Mary Elizabeth Hope Brown's entry, but they have their messages turned off. Since you created the original, I am hoping that you can update the link once the spelling is corrected.

Daniel Sullivan Family question
I am hoping you may be able to help solve a mystery for me. My 2G Uncle, Wilson M. Eppley is the husband of Mary Mable Sullivan Eppley (1886-1957) who is the daughter of Daniel Sullivan #49404595 and Mary E. Sheperd Sullivan (buried in Congressional Cemetery, in Washington, DC). Mary Mable Sullivan and husband are buried in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Prince Georges Co., MD. Would you be able to contact me so I can pose my question to you, please?

Thank you.

John Nelson
I see the entry for John Nelson (dod 1866) posted for St. Andrews Presbyterian Church in Beeton, Ontario, Canada. I have written to them and they say they have no record of a burial for him there.
The grounds keeper says that no stone exists with that name, nor is there an indication on the plot map of a burial for John Nelson.
Do you have notes indicating where this information came from or what led you to believe that this person is in that particular cemetery?
Thank you so much for your help.

John & Temperance Peters
You made the original memorial for John Peters (Find A Grave # 96656324) and Temperance Peters (Find A Grave# 96656323), John's mother, in the Peters Cemetery, Lauderdale County, AL. However, John and Temperance are not buried in the Peters Cemetery. Instead, they are buried near the porch of the plantation home which no longer stands. So if someone tries to find their graves in the Peters Cemetery, they wll not find them. I would like for their findagrave memorials to be removed from the Peters Cemetery & a new burial site created. I e-mailed Sue Ing, to whom you transferred these memorials, and she cannot delete them as she did not create them.

The Mikado, et al.

You transferred this when I realized he wasn't a Zielinski, as per his death record, and wanted to find out who he was.

Thought you'd appreciate this...I found his photo and that's my grandfather sitting on his lap!

Family friend, yes, but no Zee. ha

Thanks again for the transfer, back when!

Charles Monroe Williams @ Congressional Cemetery
I was amazed to find an entry for my great uncle, who died at the age of 3 in Washington, DC. Can you share where you found this information? You gave cause of death, so I suspect there must be a death certificate that I've had no luck in finding. Charles died of meningitis within a year of my grandmother's birth and I have a picture of the two of them as baby/toddler together.

Thank you!

Elizabeth Kearns
I see you originally created the Find A Grave memorial for Elizabeth Kearns #97036777. I have a death record that states she was born Dec. 17, 1864, lived 63 years, 8 months & 9 days, died Aug. 26, 1928, and was buried in Beeton. I am interested in where you got the 1865 and 1923 from? Also, her husband, William Kearns, could be buried there. The only information I have on him is via others on According to them he was born in 1846, and died before 1901. You have a William Kearns #97036790 with an unknown birthdate who died in 1898. The Find A Grave memorial numbers are close together, and the dates fit. Are Elizabeth and William on the same headstone? I would appreciate any information you can give me. Thanks for all your efforts!

Many thanks!
Boy, are you generous! I'm also obsessive about researching my family. Continuously going sideways because so much is discoverable that way, as you also must know.
My siblings actually have bribed me to zip it on my family discoveries, since I have talked of the new ones for decades.
So I very much appreciate your work.

And incidentally, I would never tell you to just byte me! I would give you a big high five instead.

Specifically, because of you and the copy I have of an ancestor's well annotated photo album from 1900-1930s, I am making breakthroughs! She hadn't included surnames, but there are some delightfully salient clues such as "sisters?" or "all alone" or a cut out within the album. I just may have figured out the "sisters?" one, all because of you!

J H Mendenhall Buried Bigbee Cemetery
- Obituary -
Honey Grove Signal, August 10, 1894

Last Thursday evening during the terrible thunder storm Mr. James Mendenhall, a farmer living near Monkstown was struck and instantly killed by lightning. We failed to learn particulars further than that the gentleman was returning from Honey Grove with a load of lumber, and was overtaken by the storm. A few miles from home the electric current struck him while he was standing on the load of lumber, killing him instantly and setting his clothes on fire.

Thanks for the laugh
Love your attitude about Find A Grave and entry. I will research my family. It is confusing enough. I take pictures for others. Go in and add dates for myself and other memorial creators. I do not want to mess up someone's memorial because I think I understand.

Your bio summed it up for me.

Burial Site for Catherine Frances Hanson
Hello, I am so impressed by your dedication to preserving records and helping people find their family members. I was looking for information about a woman named Catherine Frances Hanson, born in Washington about 1920 and married to my great-uncle, William Amos in 1939 (he passed in 1944 at age 22). I'm not related to her, but while trying to fill out my family record wondered about her life after the tragedy of losing her husband so young. My search showed the Catherine Hanson burial you listed on Find A Grave. Unfortunately there are no dates listed for birth or death. Is there a way to find out what the dates are? Thanks for your help, Roxane Stafford

Your entry # 37549150 seems to be the same as entry # 98031679. Can these be merged?
Thank you,

Barbara Gray
RE: George Gray, 1855-1878, Black Rock, AR
Hi Lorie,

Thank you for replying to our request for information about George Gray. Since contacting you, our search has taken us in a little different direction. We were looking for a P. George Gray, and now have conflicting data suggesting his first and second initials were P.P., based on his marriage certificate. His mother lived in Black Rock at the time of her death in 1910, and we thought she was buried there. But not so. She was buried in the Masonic Cemetery in Pocahontas. In her family plot, there are several illegible markers, so we are having to wonder if those might be her missing husband, R M Gray, and son, P P Gray. The Masonic Cemetery contact said their records prior to 1900 are lost, so we can only wonder now. Again, what you are doing is such a tremendous service to families trying to understand their heritage. Thank you again!
