RE: Martha
It sounds like you have many wonderful memories of your times together!

I left a flower/note on her memorial.

Thanks again for your help!

Thank you so kindly for the information on Martha McKay Pierson!

Yes, the last known address we had for her, was in Sallisaw, OK.

I am so sorry to hear of her death, and know that she will be honored and missed by all who loved her!

I am hoping you can help me. We are planning for our 55th class reunion and the announcement that was sent to Martha McKay Pierson, at our last known address, came back "not deliverable as addressed". Upon searching, I was shocked when I found this memorial.

Do you happen to know if she ever lived in Olney, Illinois? The birth date is the same year as a lot of ours. Our Martha McKay Pierson would have graduated from East Richland High School in 1960.

Please let me know, as we always honor our deceased classmates.

Thank you so much for this consideration!

I'm also researching some of the same families you are.

My Great Great Grandfather was Malcolm McNeil Gibson. This is on my Grandmother's side of the family. Her name was Lucy Lucille and her maiden name was Polk.

Just wanted to say hi and hope to maybe compare notes at some point.

I'm on as familyfinders54 which is an account I share with my mother.

Thanks for the info on the Cemetery at Redwood. Is it now a black cemetery or do you know for sure? The Beatrice Douglass we are looking for is white. So if it is a black cem. guess she isn't who we are looking for. But, not many spell Douglass with two ss! Again Thanks for the info. Bobbye Varner

Hi, you put a memorial on Findagrave for a Beatrice Douglass at Cemetery on Redwood, Sallisaw, Sequoyah Co., OK. Are you just walking & photographing this cemetery or do you know Beatrice Douglass? Is there any way to obtain an obituary on her that would identify her closer? We are looking for a Gladys Beatrice {Porter} Douglass, born ca 1906. If you have any further information about this Beatrice in Sequoyah Co., OK would appreciate you sharing with me. Thank you for the work you are doing at Findagrave and Good Hunting. Bobbye Varner

RE: Redwood Cemetery - Sallisaw
Thanks, Katherine. Do you know how takes care of the land or who may own the land currently? They are African-American, but I'm trying to see if there are any additional records somewhere on the people buried. I'm trying to link the Kilpatrick and Dunns buried there. Any information would be great! I live in Omaha, Nebraska, so I'm not able to visit in person.

Redwood Cemetery - Sallisaw
Hi - I see that you created the contributions for Redwood Cemetery in Sallisaw. Would you be able to tell me if there were any additional graves and where this cemetery is located? Trying to put together some information on a family tree, and any additional graves in the cemetery would help me. Thank you! -- Stephanie Brown

Jesse Adams
No, I don't have a clue re: middle name. I haven't done any deep searching for this family, just did a little this morning to see if I could determine if he was the person you were looking for.
Good luck on your tree. I have been working on mine for about 25 years now and still love it.

I did a little research and found the family in 1880 Johnson county, Texas. Also looked up some death records and found more info. I added this info as a bio on the memorial.

It appears you are correct so I am going to transfer Jesse's memorial to you.

As for the story that he was on his way to Weatherford... do you know where they were living at the time? I don't know about the roads back then, but it seems going thru Lipan from Johnson county to Weatherford would be out of the way.

The cemetery is located off Hwy 4 about a half mile out of Lipan toward Granbury. There is a small sign on a fence by the highway with the name of the cem, but it is easy to miss.
