Coggburn's headstone.
I don't know if he is kin, but I had the privilege of talking to the Grandson of the Rooster Cogbburn that John Wayne played, who lived on a farm just west of Glenwood, AR in 1996. He was 92 years old. We talked for a while and he said that both Rooster and the hanging judge got reputations they did not deserve. Rooster killed 13 of the 126 men he went to arrest. The judge hung only the men that killed his deputies. He lost 73 DEPUTIES AND HANGED 72 MEN.

Other Requests
Jane R.: Her's is sinking into the ground more-as you can seen from the other photo that was posted.
Thomas J.: I think it is a better photo.
Cristina A.: I posted another photo.
Thomas J.: I posted one, but I think I can get a better one the next time I go back.
Elizabeth A.: Didn't turn out very good at all-so I want to try to get her's redone. Seems that the stone has worn/aged since the last picture was taken. I will try chalking Thomas & Elizabeth's next time and it should be more legible.

RE: Vanzandt Cemetery
Just a quick message-I read your messages late last night, so today after work I went back to the cemetery and I have GOOD NEWS. I chalked and took pictures of all the stones that I could and I did find the McNally infant girl!!!!!YEA!!!!But, sorry I won't be able to get the pictures down loaded until tomorrow sometime. If you would like-go ahead and enter the information for the infant McNally and then I'll enter the photo on your entry and that way you'll have direct ownership to the memorial. Check for pictures tomorrow!! :)

William Gilbert
You have a photo request for William at Cloverdale Memorial Park and Star Cemetery. The memorial for the Cloverdale request doesn't apprear to exist anymore. I will be out at the Star Cemetery this weekend so I will get the photo for William that you requested as well as the others. I know where the Van Horn's are buried so I'm thinking that the Gilbert's are in the same area.

Heffner's - Star Cemetery
I've made the transfers for Frank & Hazel to your account. There is a memorial for Ernest Carl Heffner as well. If he is related and if you would like me to transfer the memorial to you, let me know. Good luck in all your family research.

Thanks for the correction notice for Hazel and her father. If the Heffner's are your relation, I'd be happy to transfer their memorials to you.

RE: Thank you
You're very welcomed. I went out to find the other graves because I know I had seen Birdie's one morning while walking. FYI, the two children's graves that I sent photos of first were by themselves as this was probably a plot chosen by their parents. The Coggburn family plots are still in the same section (B) but quite a distance from the two children's graves. Happy I could be of assistance and that these photos helped you in your quest on Ancestry.com.

RE: Coggburn's
I knew Birdie Coggburn personally when we both attended the same church but do not know where she is buried in Hillcrest. Each weekday morning, I walk with some other folks inside the cemetery so I'll ask them if they can point out any other Coggburn graves. Birdie was very active and outspoken in the church and always brought a smile where ever she went. She loved brightly colored clothes, hats and matching purses.

I don't know if you can make out the dates on the headstone photo I took but it appears that T. Woodrow Coggburn lived for 25 months and Leon A. only lived for five months. There are NO other Coggburn markers in the immediate vicinity where I took the photo of the two children's headstone. If I locate anymore of the Coggburn heritage, I'll take photos and upload them to FindAGrave. I am guessing that in looking for other relatives, you have looked into Ancestry.com ? I've worked on our own family tree every chance I get and I was able to accomplish a great deal in just a short amount of time.
