Sylvester Manning
Thank you for posting the photos of the Sylvester Manning family markers (Sylvester's #24827136). Would it be OK with you if I post your photos, with credit, to my family tree?
Thank you,
Sue S.

Price Headstones
Hi, Jack,
I found the pair of headstones for William Engels Price, Jr. & Nancy Huston Price at Vevay Cemetery. If you are a relative, I will be happy to transfer them to you. Michele

RE: Thank you Eagle Scout
Hey Jack -

I mentioned your email to my son who managed the project as part of his Eagle Scout community service and he was very pleased to hear that it's still helping people such as yourself.

Hearing that these were your ancestors, you may be interested in the report that was compiled as part of the project which includes information regarding the Brown's.

If you'd like a copy of it I'd be happy to mail one to you. Just reply to this email with your mailing address and I'll send you a copy to keep as part of your family history.

You May want to
You may want to create an additional Virtual cemeteries for the Matthew & Janet line and the line with Keziah & Keltie. It will definitely help me keep the lines straight... Just a thought...

Brown Photo
You are welcome for the photo. I found a headstone in a cemetery about a mile away, for a Nannie and Henry Brown that states "son of S & E Brown, daughter of ..." etc. Both are young children and both are on the same headstone in Quaker Cemetery. Do either of these children sound familiar? I'd be glad to send the photo and transcription of headstone, if they are someone in your tree and you are looking for.
Let me know
Happy Hunting!

Photo requests
No problem, you're quite welcome!

Pretty cool info about Ethan A. Brown. I looked him up and it says that his last rank was that of a 1st Lieutenant which makes me think that he was brevetted as a Captain, but he was killed before it was official. With a brevet rank, the soldier can use the title, be addressed as that rank, and assume the responsibilities of that rank but cannot receive the pay of that rank until it is officially recognized and approved.

Also, I have photos taken from the sides of the monument (like those for Merritt and Ethan) for Charles Brown and Joseph Wilson Brown. Let me know if you need them. Daniel Wilson Brown's name was not inscribed on the monument other than the surname of Brown. Cemetery records, however, DO confirm his being interred there.
