|Pen Tangle||RE: Edward Nicholls & the Lawrence Family|
No, I don't think they were buried there - I think old and broken headstones were removed and taken to an old store which is no longer there. I am going to ask the current Sexton if he knows what has happened to the headstones and whether he can pinpoint this grave for you. If he can help I will get back to you. regards, Pen

Hi Peter.You will notice that ypur request for Baldock has been fulfilled but there is no pic visible. For some reason I can't explain the pic loads upside down. I have deleted it and will upload again on the weekend when I find out why it is doing that. Larry

Your welcome & thanks for the offer. Yeah the ground is very dry here. Would you believe it was raining on and off when photo was taken. I have found that the Balmoral cemetery records shows another two Weeks buried at the same cemetery.
Weeks,William Charles, age 70 Yrs.
Buried on 11-7-1949. Unmarked grave. Photo taken.
Weeks,Mary, Age 12 Hours Old.
Buried on 1-12-1961.

I had gone to Balmoral Cemetery and located where Mary Jane Weeks was buried. Her grave is unmarked and records show that a 3 month old baby also was buried in the same grave, H. N. Weeks.
I took a photo of her grave site. If you don't want that picture let me know and i will get rid of it off her page.
If you want to find the grave she is resting on the left side of the "Male Family" grave.

I visited Eastbourne Rd Cemetery, St Austell today with my camera and have taken photos of Elizabeth OKE's gravesite (she shares it with a WW1 grave - William OKE). I've uploaded one photo to the site, but if you would like the others, please contact me.

|Farmer Ancestry||Thanks for looking in Llandaff :)|
It's been a year since we last spoke (and you'd pretty much fulfilled all my requests back then) so it was a nice surprise to see another request from another cemetery fulfilled by you. Good to see you're still getting out there and helping people :) How are you both?
My research has slowed a bit these days and most of my other findagrave requests have been further afield than Cardiff so not been a lot happening on that front either. We're off to Oz to see my daughter soon and then we've got another move on the horizon so hopefully I can notch my research up a gear when we get settled again.
Thanks as always for taking the time out to go rooting through shrubbery (cue Monty Python) to find these last resting places that have been forgotten by everyone but us. I as always appreciate what you do immensely.
All the best

|F.T.R.||Just re-read your message|
I think you've misunderstood, the notice is written by you (Author - Peter)- when I clicked on it, it brought me to your profile - hence I was abiding by your notice. Sounds like we can continue to add photographs which is great. Many kind thanks.

No problems - thought you'd put up a soft touch warning for us not to post any photographs. It appears on every single name for all names within Cathays (your photo of the front entrance gate and then underneath a 'warning notice'. So I was playing it safe and removing photographs. Thanks for your reply.

Hi, if you click on any person on the site – it has your photograph and states the following:
“Don’t show cemetery photos on this memorial [?]”
Any reason why we cannot put photographs of the grave?

Hello, Peter, I've found Emily at last,walked past her dozens of times. It is a kerb type grave which is partially buried.I'm working in Crowan soon so I'll give it a spruce up and take pics. She is not alone in her resting place - details later.

You are welcome.
The area is a bit overgrown at the moment.
We will give it another go and try to find
Gladys when they cut it down again.

Hi Jackie and Peter,
you are welcome, yes it was a lovely day.
I nearly missed the headstone it was against the wall and the Richards was very small, sorry I didn't have a brush with me or I would have cleaned it up a bit.
I had a look for a Collins grave but the only one that I could find was a John Collins who died Jan 1941 and his wife Ida Beatrice date under the grass, needs trimming. Can do if one of yours.
There is also a grave just a couple in front of Ernest of a John and Melinda Richards.

Happy Easter to you too.
Would you like a picture of the other side added to Charles showing Annes inscription?

|mazzie74||Re: Timothy O'Keefe|
Hi again Peter.
It's strange there is no record of Florinda's burial.
Her parents and brother are in D1184 - surname Mazzei but listed as Mazzia - Ferdinando buried under his English name of Frederick Mazzia 1904 - wife Mary Mazzia - 1901 - son Lewis Mazzia 1893.
In 1997 I wrote to the record office and they had a record of Frederick and Lewis, but no record of Mary! I know she's in there as I have seen (many years ago) a burial receipt for her.
Likewise Florinda's other brother is in R2109 with his wife and son - Frederick Mazzia 1906 - Elizabeth Mazzia 1901 and Frederick Mazzia 1910. Again the record office had records of the 2 Frederick's but not Elizabeth.
None of these have headstones as I have looked.

Thank you for the photo of Timothy's and Florindas grave plot - it's looking like none of my family have headstones in Cathays.
Added by mazzie74 on Feb 15, 2015 11:14 PM
That's brilliant, thanks.
My Timothy died in either January, February or March of 1917 so I think that must be him.
I do have a lot of ancestors buried in Cathays and will also be adding those requests but find a grave only allows so many requests per week.

That's great, thanks.
Thanks for the flowers as well.
I had a feeling there wouldn't be a headstone as about 15 years I went to Cathays looking for William's parents and grandparents grave R2109 and D1184) and they didn't have headstones either.
Darin (Newcastle upon Tyne).

Peter and Jackie, You are fabulous! You have gone above and beyond anything I expected. The other date is my Grandfather Albert Stanley Phillips' daughter Rene Iris Phillips 1907-1913. She died of Diphtheria. You are amazing finding the news articles.They are very informative.Gives me a few more leads to look at with the people attending his funeral. I have been unable to find any pictures of my Grandfather Albert Stanley anywhere, even though he replaced DTP as Consul. DTP and his sons Ernest (also a Consul in Switzerland) and Albert also died at age 62 (heart)on April 11 2 years apart. April 11 is my Dad's birthday so he assumed he would die on his 62nd birthday. He lived to 82.I looked at all you send with a lump in my throat. My brother Daniel Thomas Phillips II 1956-2014 died last September after heart surgery at 57.He would have loved to see all you sent. Albert and Ernest returned to Chicago to work as clerks for the Santa Fe RR. Albert kidnapped my Dad and brought him to Chicago where i was born. Left is wife and another daughter Grace. Wish I knew the why of it. It was after Rene died. I am thinking Albert wanted to return to the US and Mildred did not. Again THANKS!!
