My pleasure in the transfer -- she should be in the care of family!

|Karen||Re: Judy Kennady|
I've added the link and am just about to transfer Judy's memorial to you. I only ask that when I finally find her obit you will add to her memorial.
Dick and Judy, Pete and I were early to this new development in Dayton -- we lived just down the street from each other. Can't tell you how many times we were at the club house socializing together or Pete on the golf course with them (I didn't and still don't golf -- Judy kept asking me to join the womens club since golf was an absolute love of hers.
She was an absolute dear-heart, loved by all in those early days of the Dayton community. I take special care to "spiff" her gravesite when I'm at the cemetery.

Tabby, I have a grave marker photo but am unable to post it because the maximum photos have been reached. If you want it, let me know and I will try to send it to you from my Mac. I am working off my ipad right now while I watch some football.

Hello, it's me again. This inscription is also difficult to read. (He's my 1st cousin 5x removed).
"Dearest Father, thou hast left us,
And our loss we deeply feel,
But 'tis God that has bereft us,
He can all our sorrows heal."
Just in case you wish to post, or not.

Hello, I was just in this cemetery and copied down the inscription from John's stone. I know it is visible on the stone, but thought I'd send you the inscription, to aid in reading it, or posting it with the photo (or not).
A PRECIOUS ONE FROM US IS GONE
A VOICE WE LOVED IS STILLED
A PLACE IS VACANT IN OUR HOME
WHICH NEVER CAN BE FILLED
Every little bit helps? yes? Thanks for all your work.

I have taken pictures on 490 East Bernstadt Ky. I see that there is 3 Cemetery's with the same cover picture on it...
Watkins-Casteel, Casteel and the Philpot Fields Cem.
I put some of my pictures in Philpot Fields which was already made in here. A peron told me it was not right...I see your picture say's Watkins Casteel . I did not see your sign out there...Is there another grave yard ???? I did see a sigh that say Casteel..Do you know what the name of the small cem at the top of the grave yard is...It is all fenced in and there is not many graves in it?????. It does not have a name at all. I plan on getting back out there and taking the rest of the stone pictures but i have to put the ones i have in the correct place of rest.
Any help you can give will help me a lot.

Thank you so much. I live in Indiana and wish I were closer so I could clean the stones. Have been there a couple of times. There is another brother that I will add, also. Where did the information come from that you had already posted?

I'm very glad I could be of help. I've transferred the memorial to you. Helping people make connections is one of the reasons I love being a volunteer with this site.
As for Mount Moriah Cemetery, I'm saddened by the terrible condition of this once magnificant cemetery. Worse, the cemetery has been completely abandoned and is currently closed while the City of Philadelphia tries to find who actually owns the property and is responsible for its upkeep. (You can find an article about the sudden closing here: http://www.foxnews.com/us/2011/04/07/massive-historic-cemetery-philadelphia-shuts/).

|BCStephens||Ann Evans, cont.|
Ann's husband General Evans was also part of the escort, as was General Braxton Bragg. Ann no doubt helped her mother feed and entertain the presidential party during their one night stay in Greenwood County.

|BCStephens||RE: Ann Evans|
Thank you for the transfer...not necessary but very gracious. I have added the info. Ann is a cousin. Her brother is General Martin Gary in the same cemetery. Your bio states you love family history, so if you are from this part of South Carolina you may find it interesting to know that C.S.A. President Jefferson Davis, Secretary of War, John Breckenridge, Wade Hampton and others in his party spent the night of May 1st/2nd, 1865, in the home of Ann's mother, Mary Porter Gary, in Cokesbury, while Davis was on his flight south after the fall of Richmond. Gen. Gary was part of his escort.
