Fish Creek Cemetery

Cimantha Field (1846-1906) and Nancy Morrison Field (?-1908) are duplicates. However, I have no idea why she was called Nancy in her obit. She only appears as Cimantha or C A in the census and marriage records. She married Robert Field (1841-1892) on 27 sep 1869 in Saline Co., MO. He was the son of Judge Robert Field (1803-1890). The names of her children corresponds with my research, except that Arch is Robert A, Lucius is David Lucius and Mattie is Mary Manta "Manta". All her children, except Jesse and Manta, are buried at Ridge Park Cemetery, Marshall, Saline Co., MO. I don't know where Manta was buried, but Jesse moved to OK and is buried at Hobart Rose Cemetery, Kiowa Co., OK.

The names of her siblings also correspond with my research, except that Cimantha had an elder sister, Mary, who died 1907. Mary married William Wilhite. Both are buried at Fish Creek, as is Alice Morrison. David is buried at Odessa Cemetery, Lafayette Co., MO. William Patrick Morrison (1849-1935) moved to Katy, Harris Co., Texas abt. 1898 and died there. I have not researched Arch yet, but I did notice that Cimantha's son, Fred Field, was living with him in Kansas in 1910.

One last note: Catherine Field, née Coffman (1822-1905) was Cimantha's mother. She was Judge Robert Field's 3rd wife. Cimantha's father was Archibald Morrison (1811-1864)

Hope that helps,

Adam Edwards

Sarah M. Phillips Memorial

My name is Whitney & I am a fellow volunteer. I wanted to let you know I found the headstone of Sarah M. Phillips & her spouse Thomas B. Phillips in Rehoboth Cemetery (Slater, MO). It is difficult to read given the rust growth, but I left captions with the photo outlining how I read it.

Thanks for creating her memorial!
Take care, Whitney

Blytha & Donald Ellis
Sponsler, Isaac
Thank you Alma for transferring Isaac Sponsler to me. I wanted to let you know that on his tombstone, his last name is spelled Sponsellor, and I discovered that someone else had a memorial on him set up under that spelling, and it was linked to his wife Mary. They have photos of the stone. And, it was set up at an earlier date than ours. So, I am going to have to delete our memorial. I saved the newspaper article you posted and put it on the other memorial. Thank you so much for obtaining that! His name in that obituary was misspelled Sponsler, so it was easy to see how he ended up with two memorials.

Thank You
Thanks, Alma, for the transfer and the info about Pisgah Cemetery. That is an awesome thing to do at a cemetery. It would be nice to see that sort of thing catch on and spread across the states.

Thank you for taking the time to look up Nancy's obituary. I understand Nancy and her child have unmarked graves. She was my grandfather's younger sister. Thank you again for your kindness.
