|W. Smith||Old photo|
Lori: Today I attached a photo to the FindAGrave memorial you set up for your grandfather (or perhaps he was your great-grandfather?) Lige, and I thought you might like to see it, although it is not really a good photo because I took in the late 1950's using a cheap, plastic camera I got with Green Stamps, and his back is turned to the camera. Unfortunately, a similar photo I took of him from the front did not come out at all, but Lige was very recognizable from the back to those who knew him. I will leave it there unless you prefer that I take it down, so do let me know either way.
Mr. Lige was like a grandfather to me as well, and I learned a lot from him. My parents also lived on Mrs. Hartley's farm near Lige, Lela, Frank, Shelby, and Gearl, the latter of whom was four years older than I was. Now I am in my 70's, and on my desk sits a small, model Ford tractor like the one Lige taught me to drive so many years ago. I got it to remember him by. He was a fine man and a good friend.

Ijust happened to be on business down that way from St. Louis and stopped by that cemetery and took some pics of headstones that were old and still somewhat readable before they were gone. Sorry I cannot be of any help.

Lori - I have been doing the research for my step children. I have very little information on the Freshwater family. I've been doing most of the research through census records. I do not have any pictures. Mark

I don't have a Bertha Freshwater in the direct line. Is she the spouse of a Freshwater. The Freshwaters in my family are my two step children. Mark

You are so welcome! I live in Kansas, but was there for my grandfather's funeral. I spent a couple of hours taking random pictures. I am so happy that I came across your grandmothers. :)

Unfortunately, I have no photos of the people you are looking for. Keep looking and you will find the right person with the photos. Have you developed gravesites for these people and are they buried in Lincoln Cemetery or Key West Cemetery, Lebo, Ks?

|Steven M. Hall||Rowe and Haines family|
Lori, Please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. My name is Steve Hall, and I am really glad to hear from you and at an unexpected site. Find a grave was down until today. I will look and see if I have you on my computer. I would like to add you to my database on my personal computer if you are not already there. What is your email address please? The Haines family is easy, but the Rowe family is very difficult. I thought they were German from Baden Baden Germany. Some cousins think they were Welsh. I thought surname used to be Rau, pronounced Rowe to rhyme with cow. I have George Rowe's parents, Frederick and Katherine. We dont know her maiden name. I thought Frederick and Katherine were buried in Posey Co. Indiana, but we cannot prove it. Also we cannot prove, although I had some ideas further back than Frederick. Do you have a picture of Lavina Rowe or her husband? I descend from Geo.and Julia thru daug. Sarah Ann Rowe, who md Alex E. Hall (my great-grandparents.Nice hearing from you!!! Steve
