You sent this message to me:I have not been to this cemetery but the Blount County Cemetery book by Robin Sterling shows her first name as Ladisa.

If you know it is what you have, would you please let me know?

My reply: Her name is Ladisa Catherine "Dicey" Pannell Hogeland

Hey, just letting you know we're down to the final 60 pictures at Hopewell. Look thru the and request all the transfers you need. There are only 10 that belong to my family. Just send me a list and I'll transfer them to you.

RE: Take a look at the new option for adding links
FindAGrave added the linking option within the last few days.

As normal, they didn't really announce it.

Take a look at the new option for adding links
I'll do the link you sent but it would be easier if you used the new option in the future (where you can put the number in yourself and don't need to worry about me transcribing in error.)

You are right about his father, I have that in my records. Not sure why I added him as Woodson & Sarah's child. I don't know where his father is buried at and he died in 1951 based on my records.

Grant descendant? Any relation to my 4th great grandparents - Gregory and Lucinda (Davis) Grant?

You are very welcome. It's a lot easier to find someone else's mistakes than your own. And we all make mistakes, more and more as we get older as I'm finding out from experience. HA HA

Hopewell Cemetery
So nice to meet you Ellece. Thanks for your offer! I think we all have more than enough to keep us busy but I owe plenty back to findagrave for all the wonderful volunteers who have helped with my searches so I feel this is a big job I can help with so have put my work on hold for now! At least for one more week than I must return to my piles of things to enter in my database. Take care and good luck to you.

RE: Hopewell Cemetery
Hi Ellece,

Humm, I am wondering why Paul didn't send you the discs. He told me he sent them to 8 people but as far as I know another lady and myself are the only ones adding his photos now - maybe Paul and his wife occasionally. He sent the whole cemetery to everyone. I was very overwhelmed at first thinking I was to do all 4000+, but not so. It is a huge undertaking. Just wish he was more careful with his photos many times. Oh, who am I to say. I of course started at the end with the hardest section - the oldest section. I finished those 876 photos which were not always good ones. Took me a whole week of working 12+ hours a day. He cut off many dates and lots were not readable. He chalked some which I was grateful for but not near enough. Sometimes he only chalked names and not the dates [the important part] but I know this was a huge undertaking of the largest cemetery in Cullman as Paul told me anyway.

Anyway, if you like I will let Paul know you did not get his discs. I was going to stop working on the photos after I did the 1200 I have completed but decided I would continue to get it done. I am working on a huge project for my family. I copied 1000+ death certificates from the Family History Library in Salt Lake City in the Fall of 2013 which I need to enter into my database. So I could be doing that but I will see this through first!

I did not know Robin Sterling compiles a book of the cemeteries in Cullman County. I have his from Blount County, put out in 2002 which are lifesavers for me. I do have 3 volume cemetery books on Cullman County Cemeteries, reprinted in 2001 by the Cullman Co Public Library System Press. That has helped tremendously on these old cemetery photos Paul has taken. I would never have been able to figure out some of them without this wonderful set of books.

Anyway Ellece, you take care. We will get this project done somehow. Paul told me yesterday that he may go to another cemetery in Cullman County and do the same thing! Wouldn't it be great if they were all complete except of course resent burials? Maybe someday! Take care.

Hopewell Cemetery
Hi Ellece,

Thank you so much for all your wonderful photos in this cemetery. I am in the process of entering as a volunteer all the photos there taken by Paul Goodwin and wife. His quality is not NEAR yours, so I just leave yours there when I get to it and don't add his unless it happens to be better but I don't think any were. But Paul and his wife have done a great thing by taking all the photos in Hopewell. Now we are trying to enter the 4000+! Anyway, I needed to tell you that I appreciate your photos so much.

Thanks again,
Dianne, San Diego Co, CA

Thanks for the letting me know the picture was wrong. I had William Alphus Grant's photo, and replaced it with the one that was wrong.

Moore Family
Transferred them to you. I rather have a family member manage memorials then me. I usually work on one cemetery at a time trying to inventory them and photoing them. Hopewell is our biggest project so far. I have found six volunteers to help upload all these pictures we've taken. If you are interested in helping please send your mailing address to my email and I'll mail you some cds with the pictures on it. They started with 10% of the cemetery's memorials having photo in a week's time they have it up to 36%. I hoping it want be to much of a burden on anyone person. Look and see if there is anymore surnames in Hopewell that you're interested in managing. I'll transfer them to you. Thanks Paul & Teresa

RE: Susan Jones
Thank you for the transfer of Susan Jones Memorial. I've sort of gotten to know her and wish that I knew more. I want all of my line to have connectivity here. My Mom and I do a lot of genealogy and have written down many family stories about our clan. Do you need any help with your line?
