Graveyard Walker
Ashe County
It is a small world, and getting smaller all the time. I will let you know if I run across something in my research that needs a "personal" touch.

Thank you.

I am doing (long distance) direct line research in the Ashe County area. Trying to qualify myself for additional lineages in DAR.

You are not a pester. I hope we can stay in touch. It seems our paths have somewhat crossed in another way too. I also lived in Santa Clara for a while.

Take care of Martha and William. I know you will, without saying that now.

Stop by in the same cemetery and say "Hi" to my great grandparents - the Osborne's in the same cemetery.

RE: I'm sorry
Wow ! !
That apology was so unnecessary. I am still trying to figure out why you even said it. You did not say or do anything "out of line" in my opinion. But, yes, you should see some of the communications from some people. They can be wild and nasty.

I have found that when I get a request for a transfer I do stay away from them sometimes, if I am also related, even if distantly. Although I always try to comply with the Find A Grave guidelines. Once a transfer is made, that is it, it is done. If the new manager is an occasional or rare user of Find-A-Grave the rest of us have lost communication with that memorial. Not fair to those of us that are also related and want to have updates made. There are also people out there that will delete valid information on a memorial after it has been transferred.

I rarely turn down updates, although I may also try to verify them a bit first. I welcome enriching Find-A-Grave memorials with new information and especially family links and heritage. It is fascinating how many of us are related, or how many ancestors from different families knew each other (same times and places).

Again, no problems (that I know of) here. Happy hunting and exploring family history!!!

RE: memorial # 66304981
At this time I prefer not to transfer this memorial. I will add any information to this memorial that you would like.

I am so sorry. I hit the enter key twice! Please e-mail me at ireland2@pacbell.net and I will fill you in. We located and photographed 2 more Murty stones.

RE: Lawrence & Margaret Downey
So glad you found him and that I was able to help! I am looking for some ancestors too that I wish I or someone else could stumble upon.

You are very welcome! I could not find John. He wasn't listed in the books at the library either. I did add pics to Margaret and Elizabeth's memorials. They were beside Lawrence and Margaret.
