Boatright's at Martha Memorial Cemetery
Hi R.L.,
I just sent you a bunch of Boatright's buried at the Martha Memorial Cemetery in Pierce county. Maybe you'll be able to figure out all their connections and such, especially the "Alene Boatright". I can't seem to place her anywhere.
Thank you for all you do. Hope you and your family are safe, happy and secure.
In Christ,
Pamela ~:)

A Friend
MAX EDWARD GANDY shown as EDWIN GANDY, (#109095123) in 1900 CENSUS,in his 1938 obituary indicated he was survived by sisters; MRS. ELLA PHILLIPS #83051190, MRS. DELLA ELLISON #44823184, MRS. MARTHA ADA LITTLETON #37308222, MRS. LAURA ELIZABETH BAILEY #83050202 and brothers; DOCK GANDY (referred to as Uncle Dock by family members), ROBERT ALEXANDER GANDY #55457963, JOHN WILLIAM GANDY #83050382 and ALBERT GANDY possibly JOSEPH ALBERT GANDY aka J A GANDY Born: 25 May 1882.

Can you provide any help or suggestions on where I could locate DOCK GANDY and ALBERT GANDY as indicated in the 1900 Census?

I am assuming that DOCK GANDY had left the family home in 1900, however he was listed as surviving in 1938. In the 1900 Census it was indicated that they had 11 children with 10 living.

Also any suggestions on where I might find help in finding information on the GANDY family in COMPANY 3, 50TH GA INFANTRY, CONFEDERATE STATES ARMY.

Daniel R. Gandy, Jr.
Daniel Jr was in the Civil War and served in Louisiana. He was talked about by my grandpa, Rev Buford E. Cain, Sr. Daniel Jr started as a drummer in the war, then moved into infantry when he became of age, so I was told. Daniel R. Gandy, Jr was buried in Self Cemetary in Leesville, La and he was my great-great grandpa. My grandpa was also buried in Self Cemetary. I have some land that was issued to Daniel Gandy Jr by the president at the time. So, somehow R.L. Gandy, we are too cousins. 😁

RE: Laurel Hill
thanks... like I do at the other big cemeteries I frequent, when I'm looking for requests I usually take 10 to 20 more pictures of graves that are nearby and add them. Laurel Hill is a bit different; unlike here in Tallahassee, I don't know where the graves are (Tallahassee city cemeteries have a database with plot numbers), but there are so many roads, you can drive up and down looking for them. Sometimes I bring my mom, and in the case of yesterday's venture we found 17 out of the 50. Which reminds me... how did you know the location being 5th or 6th street, whichever one we found was yours? If you contacted the city, I would love to know so I can find those older requests.

Amos Gandy
I was reading your page. Are you in a direct descendant line from Amos Gandy? He was my wife's great great great great grandfather! I have been helping her work on her family tree but I discovered that the Gandy clan easily has thousands of descendants. What is your Gandy line? We live in Bakersfield, Kern County California. Amos had John H, who had Alston Bunn who had Jefferson who had Curtis who had Kenneth who had my wife Gail.

RE: TC Redding pic
Hey, RL!

Yes, we are 6th cuzns. You and I corresponded about a year ago.

I removed that photo on TCR's memorial page that I had posted. I got this from some cuzn or another...can't remember which one...but if it is the wrong person, we definitely don't want it to be there.

I love seeing all these old photos and having them available for future generations to enjoy. In my research I have often found "orphan" Reddings here and there on Find A Grave, and when I know for sure who the parents were, I add them as a genealogical tool for other researchers.

Thanks for letting me know. I am always happy to share any info/photos that I have.

Cuzn Sandy (currently in WPB, FL)

Eliza Fannie Sherrod
Hello. I am the great granddaughter of Fannie and have visited Lebanon Cemetery several times and have found the graves of all of the other family members but cannot find hers. Do you know exactly where it is? Her husband Elisha Redfern and her children are all well marked.

I also visited the Gandy Sherrod Cemetery near Patten Georgia where her mother Sophie and brother Samuel are buried. Find a Grave says Samuel was buried in another cemetery but I saw the headstone today so that is an error.

Would appreciate any help you can offer.

Mr. Gandy
I normally do not post obituaries to my Findagrave memorials. That leaves us with two choices. I can either glean through the obituary information you sent and update the memorial accordingly, or if you meet the Findagrave family parameters of relationship in conjunction with Ms. Bell I will be happy to transfer the memorial to you.
Just let me know which way you would like to proceed.

Mellie Gandy
Searched for Mellie Gandy and did not find. There were at least 2 I needed to clean to be able to read (black mold, etc.). A 1972 stone seems to be one that could be spotted in that cemetery more easily. Then again, I've seen others dated 2000 or later that were on the verge of disappearing. Will return when the field dries up a little bit more. hk,jr.

Gandy Link
We are looking for documentation to connect/link Jarrett Irwin Gandy 1839 - 1905 to his father, Max Whidden Gandy 1804 - 1870. He married Laney Elizabeth Whidden 1805- 1870. We also need a link between Laney to her father, Dempsey Whidden 1776-1830.

Any Help you can give us will be appreciated.

baby grave
Do you know if this grave is located near grave for William F Rountree? We have two Baby graves located in this cemetery. One is for Kenneth which is William's grandson and he also has a stillborn child buried there as well. We were told one of the family had poured a homemade marker for one of them.

Irene Ray Joiner
Irene was my great grandmother who married Frank Gandy. After his death in 1920 she remarried Larkin Joiner. You have her listed as Nancy Irene Ray Joiner. Just curious to know what record you have for the name "Nancy"? Thanks
