Found his Civil War service card, he joined in July of 1861, but mustered out December of 1861. Maybe this will open for you:

George Family
Hi, my name is Leslie. I seen you had posted a photo of my 3rd great grandmother's grave (Mahala Jeffries George). I was curious on if you had any photos of her. I have been searching for some for my grandfather, mostly just one of Mahala's daughter Emily. Do you have any idea if you have any of them, or where I might find some? Thanks!

Hi there Jan,
I used Ancestry, Fold 3 and death certificates to get that info. The parents was added by the researcher posted. I'd follow the path of parents and children if I were you and you're probably correct about his job but you should get more proof than that. I'll bet the census has his title listed.

Hello Jan,
I was looking on some old Huffman posting boards. I saw you posted to one of my threads. I'm hoping you might be able to share some information about Jacob and Susan Huffman and their family. I have been looking for the parents of Jacob for 20 yrs.

Martha White
Joseph F. George/Civil War
It was always my understanding, through my mother who was his granddaughter from Cytha Ellen Jeffries, that Joseph Forbes George fought for the south in the Civil War. My grandfather, James Matt Jeffries, always referred to his father-in-law as an "old moss back"....meaning he had turned his back on the north. Perhaps he was dropped from the roster because he did not fight for the Union Army.

Hi Jan, Glad to hear that you found your John Duby. Our Osborns and Pattersons weren't in that area of Missouri. Thanks for offering, though! I grew up in Sedgwick County, KS, funny that you're there now. Small world!! Cheers, Cathy

Hi Jan, I put in a photo request for John Duby (#44936741) at Miltonvale Cemetery. It doesn't look like he's the one you want. Cathy
