Just noticed that you had added duplicate memorials for my gr gr gr grandparents in Greenville Cemetery. Are you related to the Smiths - saw your comment about family research. If you check the one that I manage, you will find that the children are listed. Thanks, Donna

Cindy, as I mentioned, Nancy Golden is not in the Cemetery Registry nor is she listed under her maiden name, Arnold. The Registry list about 1,000 burials. Do you know what plot she is in? Otherwise, it is a needle in a haystack situation.

Cindy, do you have another last name, or another married name for Nancy Golden, Magnolia Cemetery, Greenwood, SC? She is not listed in the cemetery directory. There is only one Golden listed and that is for Thelma Burnett Golden. This directory has been very reliable for me so far.

Let me know!

Cindy, look under STOKES Roland Shivar. The memorial photo is there. There is no Roland Stokes Shivar.

This marker was hard to photograph as it was lying on the ground and we could not put a reflector on it. We had to use water to clean it off best we could. I did put the inscription in the caption of the photo should you wish to copy and paste it onto his memorial in the inscription box. Diane Gravlee

Good Afternoon,

Good News one of my co-workers lives in the neighborhood where the cemetery is located and I should be able to get the photograph this week.

Have a great day

Your request for Sarah Pyles will be found in HOPEWELL PRIMITIVE BAPTIST CEM.
It is so confusing having THREE Hopewells in Fayette Co., AL.

RE: John Burns
You're welcome Cindy, wish I could have been more helpful.

I'm going to head back over there on a sunnier day with some cleaning supplies and see if I can clean off a couple of the more damaged stones and get enough of a shot to at least tell the name. One of the stone carvers had a really light hand, so I've been trying infrared and other graphic manipulations to see if I can find any other missing stones from the list, but so far no luck.

There are also some broken stones I may be able to flip over if I can get someone to go with me and at least record the information. I'll let you know if I can find it.

Boone City Cemetery does not have a Babyland. It is pretty much set up by small family groups (plots). Since White is not a common surname in Watauga County, I would guess the Father/Mother was attending/working at Appalachian State Teachers College and the cemetery was near the college and they possibly could not afford a stone. Boone City Cemetery is now located in the middle of the college campus.
