Randolph Whited
Randolph Whited was my Great Grandfather. Recently I came to Virginia to try to get a picture of all of my deceased ancestors including Randolph Whited. I am also related to the Wells Family who lived in Russell County, Virginia in the 1800's. My Grandfather was Walter Wade Wells, my grandmother Minnie Myrtle Whited. I was able to get a picture of nearly everyone I knew of on my trip except Randolph Whited's Gravestone. He is buried in the Meredith Whited Cemetery in Swords Creek. We found the road to the Cemetery easily, but could not get into the Cemetery due to "No Trespassing" signs and locked gates. Do you know who owns the property, or how I could go about getting a picture of his and Meredith Potter Whited's gravestone? If I had any kind of contact information, it would be helpful.

Junior Richardson
Hi, and thanks for submitting the edit request. I'd like to recommend that you also put in a photo request, as we have a great group of volunteers at this location. I don't get around well, so they handle the walking part, and I handle the computer part. Please let me know if you have any additional information you'd like added to the memorial, and I'll be happy to include it.
Best wishes from hot and sunny California.

Michael Jan Breedlove
William Franklin Breedlove
Hi Harold

I am compiling a geography of Breedloves in America from 1700 (our approx.
origin date in America). We have all been traced back to a single man,
Charles Breedlove that first appears in the records of Essex, VA as a witness
in 1708. I am particularly interested in the 1860-65 war for Southern Independence
and have been perusing the military records.
I am assuming that the photograph that you posted on find-a-grave (1/8/12) for
William Franklin Breedlove is actually him. I had, I believe, 2 relatives in the 37th VA.
Would there be any problem in my using a download of this photo?

RE: McGlothlin
Sorry for the delay - yes, our family came from Charles Jackson McGlothlin Sr., one of Granville's brothers. So you and I are cousins. My grandfather was Charles Henry McGlothlin Sr. who passed away in 2008. His wife, Fannie, my grandmother is still living in Wytheville at age 92. My dad also passed in 2008. My mother and I still make semi-regular trips up to visit. Perhaps on our next visit, we can visit you. I know that she wants to go to Jewel Ridge one day. That is where she first started teaching. Thanks for the info...I have been working on the family tree where my grandfather left off. Call me anytime: 843-229-2069. Thanks. David

I was looking through the Russell County, VA, Whitts and found your link. Looking for a James Whitt, married to a Martha Roman. On the 1850 Census he is listed with family, 1860 Census of Russell County, just Martha. Would like to even know where Martha is buried. I descend through a son, Richard Lee Whitt. He is buried in our family cemetery in Wise County, VA.
