Zanie Parks Gray - John Gray
THIS is incorrect on both parts ! I have Zana ( Jenney yes that is her birth name via her grand fathers will ) Gray's headstone picture taken by Charles Hawkins and we have been to the spot where she and her son Robert Gray are buried ( plus 8 more grave sites ) ,, it is in a private family grave site ,, I am a part of this family and Jenney " Zana " Gray did not have PARKS as a middle name her youngest brother did also John Gray ( not her fathers cousin ) is the son of William and Sarah Teague Gray of Newberry Co SC .. I have the bible insert for this family and they are English - Irish,,,, we are Palatine German and also there are 3 different gray families in the area's of Lauren and Newberry Co and we are not all related one us Palatine German arrival date 1 July 1710 NY the next grays were Prussian the next English ,, I am a little upset at people that publish things with out research and this is my family of Gray's .. I also do research and live here in the upstate ,, Thank You Sherry Gray - Kunkle

Zanie Zana Gray
She is bur. by the enoree river in Laurens Co SC across the river from the town of Enoree close to the Beverdam Church off Beaverdam RD about 1 mile behind church. She is bur. with one of her sons and which they both have grave markers and there are about 10 other graves back there. Not sure where this other cemetery has come from??? Just so know one gets confused. Her mother was Mary Parks, I have never seen her with the middle name of Parks either, but her husband was John Gray and they had seperated and she filed for some type of payment to support her 3 children in abt 1825 and her grandfather Isaac Gray stated in his will the John would have no say so over the items that were left to Zana. Sincerely Julia Gray Stepp

RE: Joshua Watson
Anne, you didn't find him buried in the Union-Tacker Cemetery because his old tombstone was broken in half. He definitely is buried there. It is the oldest grave in the cemetery. However, my sister had the tombstone repaired earlier this year, and now it is easier to find. My computer died yesterday or I could probably tell you where in the cemetery he is buried. I'll have my information back soon I hope. If you want/need this information, please let me know and I'll try to provide it for you.

Hi My name is Darlene Ross Key. I am researching my family tree and I am trying to find out where if this is Iseral Miller or Iseral Miller Ross. It had two names in the listing for the Cemetery. I would love to know where this is as I believe they are my ancestors. You can also reach me at drkey54@charter.net. Thank you Darlene

Cynthia Nan Haley Watson gravesite
Hello Ann,
If I read correctly, you state that Cynthia Nan Haley Watson is buried next to her husband, Joshua H. Watson. However, he is buried in Union-Tacker Cemetery near Donie/Teague, Texas. Tombstone was repaired in 2012. She is buried in the Kirk Cemetery.

Joseph Nathaniel Green
Have you done research on ALL of Joseph Nathaniel Green and Margaret Graham's children, or just those who married into the Parks family?

Many of your memorials have provided excellent information, but I'm missing information on several of the Green children. I'm hoping that you might know more about the Green family, or be able to direct me to a good source.

Samuel Qualls Pierce
Hi Ann,

Can you please tell me if there is a unit shown on Samuel Qualls Pierce's headstone? I have seen the Confederate widow's pension application for Georgia Paul Pierce, but I haven't been able to find the unit he served with during the war. Any assistance which you may provide will be greatly appreciated.

Samuel Qualls Pierce
Dear Ann,

Thank you for all of your hard work in managing these various memorials. Would you happen to know what unit Samuel Qualls Pierce served in during the Civil War? Georgia Paul Pierce's widow's application states that he was in Madison's Regiment, and Marion's Brigade, but I haven't been able to locate either of those in any records. Did he serve in an Alabama unit, or in a different state? Thank you so much.

Israel & Mary MIller Cemetery
This cemetery no longer exists.

The two graves were in danger of being destroyed by a real estate developer and were moved to Rocky Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in the late 1980s.

Israel's grave has also been marked with a DAR marker and is listed on this site with the Rocky Creek internments.

Israel and Mary's son Edmund, was one of the founders of Rocky Creek Church.

RE: Minnie Boyd
Thank you for transferring Grandmother Minnie's memorial to me. The John Boyd you remember is probably my relative, John Thomas Boyd, son of Arthur Elliott Boyd, who was a co-owner of the Boyd and Davenport Insurance Company. John Thomas is retired, but he was a well-known state judge in Texas.

RE: Mary McClanahan
Thanks for your note . . . I had already looked at her death certificate . . . and like hers, there are a lot of death certificates that just say "Rockdale" in the blank for the cemetery . . . but as it turns out, that is only an indication of what town they were to be buried in . . . because there actually is no cemetery in Rockdale, Milam County, Texas that is known as the "Rockdale Cemetery" . . . mayhaps her obituary would have more details? . . .
