You are very welcome. We travel full-time now that we're retired, so I try to fill requests when I am already going to a cemetery for my own pictures.

Harry C Heppert
This is my 2nd message to David. i also found out Your Harry C Heppert, # 62151024 is not at Golden Gate Cemetery, he is at Holy Cross. His number there is #105533945 (AlbqFirefly) They do not have a birth date but have the death date incorrect at Sep 27, 1963. Actually it is Sep 24, 1963. Hope this all can be worked out.

David Eckert:
You seem to have a mixup in the memorial for Henry (Harry) C Heppert.( #62151024) You have his wife and children correct but not parents. His parents were Henry Heppert and Pauline Schalich Heppert. The main problem is the fact he died 24 Sep 1963. Both family,(he is my husband's uncle) SSDI and CA death index say he died 1963 as opposed to 1986. 1986 would make him 102! Is there another Henry Heppert around? Please let me know how it can be corrected. Thanks,MAL

RE: Piatt family Plot
You're quite welcome, David! That poor family really suffered through some rough times!! There are also Piatts in the cemetery at Alvira, the ghost town near Montgomery. There's likely a connection.

No headstones seen for these three, just for Kathryn and Philip, but you may wish to contact the cemetery to see if a stone was actually placed, or if it is hidden from view, as sometimes happens especially with flush stones.Telephone: 216-421-2665, Fax: 216-421-2415

Joseph W Muffly 1840-1908

The man at the cemetery did not call and I did some research on my own.
You can find Joseph W Muffly at Find A Grave Memorial# 29902562.

He mustered into the 148th PA Volunteers September 1, 1862. Was promoted to Sargent Major September 8, 1862. Was promoted to Adjutant May 1, 1863. He was discharged on a surgical certification March 28, 1865.

The 1860 Census has him living in Howard, PA with Israel Muffly, 60 and Rebecca Muffly, 23.

The 1870 Census has him in Des Moines Iowa with wife Mary. They have children Earnest and Pearl.

He died December 31, 1908 in The US National Home for Disabled Volunteer Soldiers, Battle Mountain Sanitarium, Hot Springs South Dakota.

I see on the Find A Grave memorial that he was born at Cedar Springs PA. The correct location of Cedar Hill Cemetery (Mackeyville) is Cedar Springs.

I didn't see anything about a mattress factory in Howard.

I hope this information is helpful. Have a Good m
Memorial Day.--Storres

RE: Muffly Graves

You are welcome and thank you for acknowledging the photos. I met a local resident at the cemetery who claimed to have some information about a Muffly from Howard who had a mattress factory and was Adjutant of the 148th Pa Volunteers. If he gives me the information I will pass it on to you.--Storres

RE: Goodman Grave
Hi David,
You're welcome. Not sure if that was who you were really looking for. There are at least 2 William Austin Goodman's on Spring Grove's website. But this was the marker for the William Goodman in Section 95 Lot 36 (William Augustus). BTW - I added pics for the entire lot on their memorials.

Your dad was a terrific guy. I loved working with him. he was a plethora of knowledge and just knew the right thing...I learned a bunch of little perks that I used all through out my internship and residency. May he RIP!

For a transfer,

Please go to the desired memorial page you would like...

On the top-right hand side of the page, you'll see an EDIT tab...

Click on that EDIT tab...

The next page has a list of links...

Click on the Suggest a correction line...

On the next page, there is a text that box, type your Find A Grave name and Find A Grave number...and the relationship you have with the deceasedů

Thank you for your help
