This memorial #88620285 is my g-g uncle. He is buried in the Manchester IOOF Cemetery, not West Union. Please amend and thank you for your contribution.

Hello and thank you for adding the memorial. However, you have Mahala in the wrong cemetery. I have photographed this entire family and she is in West Union IOOF Cemetery. See the picture I added along with the death certificate that says WU IOOF. Thank you and please amend.

Thank you for you quick response. I see the link now.
I am very interested in Brown County, Ohio genealogy. To name a few, I am descended from Brown County families of Martins, Fites and Ralstons dating back to the very early 1800's. Do you live in Brown County?
I have added hundreds of Brown County names to findagrave. There are a few old cemeteries I'd like to visit but they are back in wooded areas and as an elderly woman I'm afraid to trek there alone.
I don't have Facebook, but your group sounds so fascinating.
I've been to the Family History Library in Salt Lake City, the National Archives in Washington D.C., gone to scores of genealogical conferences and traveled to many locales in my genealogical searching. I've been chased by angry bulls, come across snakes and a group of wild dogs intent on attacking me during my cemetery quests.

It was Jerry Pruitt that told us Myrta was buried with husband Porter. Maybe he was incorrect!

|Melissa Karnes/Zufelt/Grooms||RE: Grooms family|
Thanks, I am trying to line up a direct line from my father, to his father, to his father, etc, so far I am at Harold L Grooms (father), his parents are Walter H Grooms, and Alice Mae Smith, then I believe it goes to Walters father being James Grooms, then from James Grooms to Lorenzo Dow Grooms, so on and so forth, but I am not sure I am on the right track to my G, GG, GGG, GGGG Grandfathers, or how far back they go. I am trying to complete my geneology line, Also wanted to know if you too were a Grooms? would love to hear more from you. Thanks Melissa

|Melissa Karnes/Zufelt/Grooms||Grooms family|
KConnley, I have been doing family geneology research on my family, (Grooms) I have noticed you have the Grooms family tree on Ancestry.com, as well as on here, I am the Daughter of Harold L Grooms, Grandaughter of Walter H Grooms and Alice Mae Smith, etc, and continue all the way to Abraham Grooms, etc, I was adopted as a small child by another family, but was originally a Grooms at birth, and am trying to make sure, I am linking my G Grandfathers, to my GG Grandfathers etc correctly, I was wondering if you could help me connect, Thanks Melissa Karnes Grooms

Thank you so much for posting the history about Joseph Newman of Brown Co. Ohio. He was my 5th gr-grandfather and I would never have known this story if you hadn't shared it. I love to hear family history and write it in my Genealogy records to pass on to the future.

|Anna Jaech||Who Are They?|
Just a thought.
As I was backing out of your site just now I saw a posting with the above words. It suddenly occurred to me that my ggggg grandmother, Dorothy Jemima Waller Stephens might ask that of US. Who are we, her tens of thousands of descendants?! Surely it never occurred to her that she would be so fully remembered 225 years after the prime of her life. It is not because of Find A Grave that we remember; it's because that's the find of people we particular folk are.
Added by Anna Jaech on Oct 31, 2012 9:17 AM
Thank you for correcting John Stephens' link! It's a testament to the love & kindness of Find A Grave members that Benjamin & Dorothy Stephens who were born before the Revolution & have been on Find A Grave only a few weeks now have links to 6 of their 9 children, and both have tombstone photos! We have a beautiful shot of the cemetery in Florence, KY which is not yet in place. You can enter the cemetery via Dorothy, #95835268.
I'm not sure why you have John, but if you know this family and have items to add, please let me know!
