|msb||RE: John Wade|
I am related to the Wade family through marriage. I am in contact with John (Jack) Wade's son, John Wade Jr., who pointed out that that the dates of his father are as such:
-- he was born in the year 1916, not 1926
-- he died on May 9
He married Cecelia Knecht of Violetsville on Dec. 24, 1940 at Camp Holabird Military Post, Rev. Reed performing the ceremony.
His memorial should also include that John Wesley Jackson ("Jack") Wade
1) received a Diploma as a "Machinist Specialist" when he was a Private with the Quartermaster Corps at the Quartermaster Motor Transport School at Ft. Holabird on Dec. 6, 1941.
2) was a painter of history, producing many scenes of his own family heritage, and of the towns of Relay, St. Denis, Lansdowne and Elkridge and their people, as well as a painting series of every President of the U.S. His historical portrait studies were exhibited, including at an exhibition for the local 1976 BiCentennial Celebration.
3) was an original member of the Elkridge Athletic Club and the Elkridge Pleasure Club - two baseball teams that represented Elkridge in the Southwestern Co. League during the 1930's and 1940's. In one way or another, Jack remained active in baseball all his life.
4) worked in various industries as a security officer, brick layer, contractor, etc. as well as in the Purchasing Dept. of the Church Home and Hospital in Baltimore City, and at the Calvert Distillery in Halethorpe.
5) wrote extensively about local history and was a champion at keeping historical memories alive in the minds of communities.
Jack was also a devoted father to his three children.
If you don't want to transfer Jack's memorial to me, please kindly insert the above information into his memorial. Thank you for your help!

Dear Sergeant Lou,
I can't say "Thank you" enough for answering my photo request and posting my Uncle Charles Greene's grave marker. We were in Baltimore for his funeral years ago...but haven't had the opportunity to come back to visit.
Your kindness makes me seriously consider being a volunteer for "find a grave" here in my corner of North Carolina.
Again, thank you from our entire family!
