Robert Owsley
Hi, Robert's father was, indeed, John Owsley who is buried in Pleasant Point Cem. in Sharp's Chapel, TN, with a Rev. War marker. His mother definitely was not Charity (Barton) Owsley. Robert was one of 4 children John Owsley had with a woman who lived on Indian Ridge in Grainger Co., TN. The story about Robert's and his brother Joseph's being left out of the Bible was speculation by descendants. It wasn't an original family Bible record which we all had thought. It was a Bible page torn out out of the family Bible after John Owsley died. His wife Charity had someone who could write enter the names of her children with John on this Bible
page to send to DC to get John's Rev War pension as his widow. The person began the list of Charity's children--out of order. So that list was scratched out and another list entered below with names of children in birth order. Joseph and Robert and their two sisters were not entered for Charity on her Bible page as they were not her children. Charity was denied the widow's pension because clerks in DC could tell page she submitted was not done as children were born. Merle Sundwall's sister-in-law, Margaret Owsley, is a member of the Owsley Family Historical Society (as were two of Merle's brothers). Bible page and documentation for above were published in OFHS Newsletters--available on cd from the Society. Website:

LEONE V. WESTOVER (nee: Mosher)

While researching yesterday on my Gleason lines in Ontario Canada I ran across the fact a branch ended up in Michigan. That is where I discovered I am connected to the Westover line. I am still working on these lines, however, this morning ran across your Findagrave for Leone.

So far, I have had much difficulty finding an obit or other information about Leone's death. However, and this might be a long shot, a few minutes ago I searched for "Leone" born "1913" and died "1997" at Ancestry and ran across only one match.

Michigan Find A Grave: LEONE V. WESTOVER (DOB: 31 Aug 1913; DOD: 20 Jun 1997)

California Death Index: LEONE VIRGINIA FORMAN (DOB: 31 Aug 1913-Michigan; DOD 20 Jun 1997-Los Angeles)
mother's maiden name: REED <== correct ==> Blanche Fern Reed
father's surname: HENRY <== ? Could this be Weeden H(enry?) Mosher?

Please let me know your thoughts.

Thank you,

Stella Colegrove was in row 29 at the Nunica Cemetery but was moved to Row 34 in the "Family" plot for the Colegrove family. Colegrove family owns all of Block 1 in the North section. John H., Gertrude, Frank W., Edward M., and Stella have all been moved to the Colegrove Section at the very northwest end of Nunica cemetery.

Thanks for the transfer of Catherine's Find A Grave Memorial. I have been working on all of the children of her parents - Conrad and Catherine Crouse. It is such a good feeling to pull it all together for others who may be researching them.

Melody Roswell
RE: Effie
Yes, I have been doing genealogy for over 40 years now. My mother started me when I was just a kid going to the library in Seattle and then when we moved from there to Spokane we sort of put it away for a long time, never forgot about family though. About 15 years ago now I picked it back up when my son decided it was time to teach me how to search on the internet etc., then I found and it took off from there. Recently someone gave me an obit for Effie Adelia Morse/Downs. I can't relay how that felt just to know where they laid her to rest as words can not describe it as well as feelings or looking at a person with an expression on their face of course could. However, the lady was the Ottawa Co. MI person who looks up obits for people, she is a volunteer for that county and knows where to go to get those kinds of records at, otherwise we wouldn't even know that she in fact is buried at Oakwood Cemetery, Traverse City, MI. I am really hoping that someone can find her grave and take a picture for me as I live so far away that it makes it virtually impossible for me to do at this point.
Have a great day!

It there anyway you can turn this memorial over to me? This is my Great Grand Uncle. I have been looking for him for over 25 years and Thanks to you I found him. Your info helped me find his marriage record in Michigan which listed his parents on his marriage record. If you can I would greatly appreciate it very much. Thank you Mary Lou
