It is commendable of you to take your time to travel to cemeteries and take photos of headstones. And it is also so helpful for those on Find A Grave and Ancestry to have these photos-they make the story of our deceased loved ones and the stories we tell of them more complete. Many thanks!

I LIKE ... very much! Thank YOU. I've deleted mine and asked Scott to take the reference to the NC Todd (dwarf) off the website.
Best regards, Dennis

I went to Forest Lawn today to visit this grave and see if her husband was buried with her but the cemetery could not find a record of it. Do you have any sort of location to help me out.

The VA is making his headstone right now ... probably 4-5 weeks or so it will be ready for installation.

Thank you so much Rich, for the beautiful pictures you added to the memorial pages of Percy Burtell Hall and Carrie Joseph Hall. They are the great grand Aunt and Uncle to my children. I was honored to meet Aunt Carrie before her death. She was a very kind and gracious lady.

Thanks so much Rich. You are appreciated! Isn't it so sad we have so many unidentified, or unrecorded soldiers?!

Elmwood photos
May have been a drive by or walk through, don't recall as have done both in those older areas of Elmwood. I believe those photos were taken in either section nine or 12 of the cemetery. I will find and re-photograph them for you next time I'm at Elmwood. Happy to help. If you prefer, please make a photo request and another volunteer may get there even sooner. There are quite a few of us who volunteer to take photos at Elmwood, a massive cemetery of over 100,000 gravesites.

Thank you Rich for the photos on this grave entry. I corrected the bio.
Love your idea of reinforcing the mirror and adding what looks like a brace/hinge for easier use. Going to go out and make my own right away. Diane

Dear Rich:

Well, its been 3 years. Today, I noticed Hollywood Cemetery and Findagrave.com changed their records to agree with mine. Wonderful!

Tomorrow in the outgoing mail is a letter to the Cemetery and $100.00 check requesting their assistance in getting a tombstone.

Hope it all goes well.

Best regards,
Dennis

p.s. Thanks for the photos.

Mayo/Sager memorials
Wow, Rich---I had no idea there were so many from these families at Forest Lawn! I found Beth's obit online, but never found one for her husband, Paul, so I had no idea where he was. Beth's father was an Atty/Judge in Richmond for many years. I remember my folks going to visit them at Christmastime when I was young. Daddy always thought a lot of the Sagers. Many thanks for finding them! I'll dig up some info for a bio.
Take care--Bobbi

Forest Lawn Cemetery?
Hello Mr. Dohm. Like yourself, my husband is a retired photographer and he noticed your work. We have lots of cousins at Forest Lawn and Hollywood, up by you. Could you take some pictures for us?

Thank you very much for adding the photo of the unknowns to my gg-grandfather's memorial. He left a wife and eight children behind. His brother, two sons, and brother-in-law survived the war, and the family forged ahead never learning where he was laid to rest. I thought it important to add his name because he believed the Union was worth the risk and worth the fight. His son, my g-grandfather kept his memory alive passing on the pride and love he had for his father. My brother, who served in Viet Nam is very much like the old man. I guess the the memory is somehow welded into the DNA and lives on, which is good. We should never forget.

William Miller
There are two William Millers in the cemetery record that have not been entered on Find a Grave, yet. The birth years are 1891 and 1892. Doesn't seem like a good match based on the birth year of 1886 for your William.
No Marie Miller, either.

I didn't come up with much on ancestry for William and Marie.
They didn't leave many tracks.

It is interesting that Chester is the only one that ended up in Vacaville. Seems like everyone else stayed pretty close to home (New Jersey).

I'll enter the two Williams later today, so you can check them out.

Kurt

I just entered Florence Lamoreaux 56354579 into a Washburn, WI cemetery and will be glad to transfer her to you if you wish. Thank you for your service! My husband was in the Seabees in Vietnam. He and a fellow veteran will be going to Branson Tues for Veteran's Week. They sure know how to treat our heros there! Have you ever gone?

Thank you for the additional photo of I. T. Norwood, I really appreciated it. He was the son-in-law of Thomas Graham McIntyre, our GG Grandfather.

Also, while it's on my mind, thank you for your dedicated service to our country. Our Vietnam era veterans didn't get the recognition they deserved.
