RE: Thomas Corbin
Hi Beth,

I'm so glad that you sent me this note, b/c Else (Alice Powelson) Corbin is not buried in Franklin Cemetery. And I had forgotten to change that!

I will send you an email.

I was able to read the inscription in person, but unable to get a good picture. I have added an inscription on her page.

Beth, I examined her headstone and took numerous detailed pictures. Nothing provided more than I could see in the photo already here.
I have attempted a translation of the inscription and added some notes.
I hope this helps.

RE: Naomi Ruth Johnson Gardner
Beth,

You are welcome to any photo or information I have. Naomi or "Nanny" as i knew her was my great grandmother. All my photos are either owned by my parents, my aunt, my great aunt, or myself. I have tried to digitize many of them and share them.

By chance are you researching Walkers from that area born before 1900. I have a picture of a hayride around 1917 that had Naomi and Henry Gardner Sr along with 2 identified Walkers and 5 unidentified others including a chaperone.

I forgot to say that you may use any of my photos from FindAGrave as long as you give credit like you are doing for Amanda Dick.

Beth,
This is as good of a photo as I have. I will try to get to this one as well when I'm in Holton at the end of August.

Beth,
You may use the photo for your genealogy. I'd appreciate it if you give FindAGrave credit for the information.
I cannot make out the inscription either. I will be in Holton in late August. If I have the opportunity I will copy down the inscription and hopefully get a better photograph.

HI Beth!
I'm sorry it took me so long to reply. I have taken a break in my research due to work, and I haven't checked the site in a while. Feel free to use the pictures of the cemetery. No worries!

RE: Marie C Schmidt Boyle 83372596
Her son's obit gives her name as "Cecila Marie."

Another son's obit calls her "Marie C."

She was born too early to have a Missouri birth certificate and she died too late to appear on Missouri Digital Heritage Death Certificates.

I cannot find a marriage record or find her on the SSDI.

Everything I know about the family is at familysearch.org.

Happy Easter

I don't live in NC so I won't be in that cemetery again any time soon. Under his name is says:

Born
Oct 20 1805

Died
Jul 24 1870

Below that it was very difficult to read even looking at the stone in person because of the pitting. But what is legible is "...death of the righteous and let my ...be remembered."

You can try contacting Esther Johnson, who is the president of the Surry County Genealogical Association and see if she can get out there some time to get a better look at it.

There are Shields in Early in Washington County. Some of them married into my Johnson family there and into the Calloways. Some are on Findagrave.

RE: William Logan
Your very welcome, I think a Logan married into the Hattabaughs, but I'll have to look through my paperwork. I learned a little more about early years of Washington County.

William and Colonel Ezekiel Logan History
I sent the last of the information I have found on these two Logans. Hope you received the emails and hope it helps your research, I am not descended from the Logans, but a few of my Washington County, Indiana ancestors rubbed elbows with the Logans.

RE: William Logan
I can't find anything on his ancestory, but have found several facts on William Logan and Col Ezekial (sic)Logan, I will make a summary of these if you don't already have these in your files. I'll probably start on this tonight. I have both versions of the Wash. County history and William Logan was in both. Possibly the Sarah in the Washington county cemetery was his second wife. Just a thought.
