Frances, Thank you so much for posting this photo of the Joseph Franklin McCracken, wife, children and grandchildren! Do you have ANY idea who is who??? I am also a descendent of J.F. Dear Ms. Frances,
Thank you so much for helping me with the Colvard family Genealogy. I can only go as far back as my grandparents because I have no information on who their parents or anything much. I can remember Uncle Jeff Colvard. I think that was Granddaddy's brother. I went over there a few times. I was closer to my Great Uncle Clay Carpenter. Him and my Aunt Mary. I think she was grandma's sister that would make her a Philips before he married Uncle Clay or Clayton . We call called him Uncle Clay.
Thank You Again,

Dear Frances Rogers,
I would love to see what you have on the Colvard family genealogy. I saw that Calvin Colvard was buried in the same cemetery as my grandparents and thought they may be related to each other.
My grandfather was Joseph (Joe)N. Colvard.
He was born on 1/31/1891. Granddaddy died on 7/25/1975. He married Lizzie Jane Phillips born 9/26/1888. Their both buried at Valleytown Cemetery They had 5 Children. 3 Boys: Claude. Boyd and Ronald. 2 Girls: Flora Belle, Gladys Marie.
Gladys was my Mom. She was the last of the children to die. She died September 29th of this year. She died of bone Cancer. Both my Aunt Flora and my Mom both died of Cancer. The oldest son Clause died of double pnumona and the both two of heart attacks.
Do you think they are related to each other? I know that my grandparents was from Graham Co., N.C . I have maybe found some Philips and Colvard's in the Old Mother Cemetery on Robbinsville in Graham Co. N.C.
Please I would love to find out there my Mom's family real came from.
Thank You Very Much,

Hi Frances, Thank you for leaving flowers and notes for my Byrd family members. I really appreciate it. You are right about my grandmother, Mary Odella Johnson Byrd - she was a wonderful grandmother and I still miss her. She was the only grandmother that I knew as my Mother's mother died at an early age. Thanks for being so kind to take the time to leave flowers and notes. Take care.

|Betty Satterfield||Miss Johnson|
Hi Frances: Hope you are doing well. I am forwarding this to you as I never knew Ms. Johnson until she was in her 90's & did not talk much. Do you know anything about her, she lived with John Lequire. Thanks, Betty
Stan Johnson[Send Reply] RE: Evie Johnson
Evie's maiden name was Holmes and I think she may have been originally from Oglethorpe County - Georgia. She was married to my Great Grandfather Robert Ellis Johnson- also from Oglethorpe County. It is a mystery to our family as to how they ended up in the Robbinsville, NC area. Robert died in 1946 and is buried at the Old Mother Church in Robbinsville. After Robert died, Evie moved in with John Lequire-- they never married as far as I know. I do know that my Great Grandfather was about 30 years older than Evie! Do you know anyone that may have pictures of her? I've talked with Darlene Crisp about her, but I haven't heard back from her recently. I would like to find out more about her if possible. Thanks for getting back to me. I look forward to hearing from you again. By the way I live in Athens, Georgia and will be making a trip back to Robbinsville in the coming weeks! I was there on September 19th and found Evie's grave.

Yes, I am very proud of my heritage - including my great great grandmother, who was Cherokee. In three weeks we will have a ceremony for my great grandfather, William Isaac Forrester, who was a CSA soldier. We will be dedicating the Southern Iron Cross for him. The more I search my ancestry, the more I am proud of who I am and where I came from. Take care.

Hi Frances, thank you for the flowers and kind note you left on my Dad's brother's grave marker. My family never forgot him and although I never knew him in person, he lives on in my heart. I can't help but wonder how alone he must have felt so far away from those "red hills of Georgia". Surely he felt the love from his family. Thanks again.

Do you know anything of a Elleander "Nellie" McCracken born ant 1821 in Habersham GA, on Ancestry.com it connects her to Cass and Sarah but there is no mention of her as their child in your list. Any help would be great.

It's been a couple of years since I have done any research on my Uncle Jonathan's descendants. I finished updates of Jonathan's brothers, Rev. Wade Hill, Rev. Noah Hill; sisters: Levina, Narcissa, Mary Elvira. The 1940 census, along with Find A Grave has added thousands of relatives to my database. Their sister, Levina was my gg grandmother.
