John Toomey
I understand about obituaries all to well. I looked for an ancestor in Toledo not only following the obituary but also following the death certificate. It turned out the man was buried in another cemetery. However, This was a headstone located in Scott Union Cemetery. If it hadn't been there a memorial wouldn't have been made for John Toomey. I am not related to anyone buried in Scott Union Cemetery. His was just one of the headstones we photographed in that cemetery.

Thank you in particular for the detailed Toomey family memorials, information. I'm trying to find my friend's Toomey ancestors and am at an impasse ending with John in Champaign Co. (Born in Ireland)

RE: Catholic Diocise of Columbus Cemeteries
I have maps of the cemetery and have been walking each row and section, creating a log of the location of each headstone. Currently finishing the Cathedral D Single Row section. Am happy to share pdf files of the maps with you if you don't have them. While working in the cemetery for the past year, I have been able to help the occasional visitor find the location of the grave they were searching for. Some are using FindaGrave as source material and it is helpful to them to have more specific row numbers and locations rather than a general section that may contain 1000-2000 graves. I cross check each plot based on the plot numbers for surrounding graves that have already been recorded from the Catholic Diocese Cemetery databank. Those recorded plot numbers have a really high correlation with the actual location in the cemetery (paper handwritten records always have a few errors). I can only vouch that a marker is or isn't present at a location.

I try. . . .please let me know of any updates or questions on Greenwood and Woodlawn Cemeteries in Zanesville OH. I am the secretary there and I try to make sure that interments are in the computer with their locations. Sometimes I'm successful and other times, I'm not. :) I think that's just the way it goes. Thank goodness that all of the findagrave volunteers I know are easy to work with and willing to help.

RE: Gustave Ulman
I already made the small changes that I could and I left them for him to accept.

Gustave's mother is also there, just not listed anywhere on either stone.

I spoke to her great grandson yesterday, numerous times - I am hoping that the family will do her justice and have her name and dates engraved on the stone.

I wanted to ask you, too, if any of your Farringtins are from New York. My great-grandmother Hannah Knight had a sister , Rachel, who married a William Farringtin from New York (Jamaica, I believe). She died shortly thereafter, possibly in childbirth, but apparently the child survived and William remarried. The family owned a blacksmith shop, and later a gas station, which still bears their name.

Took care of the updates. If you find you're related to any folks of my memorials, request a transfer. I like to see them go to family.

Rebecca Blunt Besse (FAG # 56873762)
I noticed you added a pictured of Rebecca, thank you! Have a question for you. Can you enhance the picture to tell what the inscription on her stone is at the bottom? With so many of the older stones fading away, it is nice to see what words were inscribed for all to see.

By chance do you know if her husband, Samuel is buried in the same cemetery? I would think so, but not sure. If I lived closer, I would check it out myself, but am unable to do so and rely on the kindness of other Find A Grave researchers.

Rebecca is my paternal 4th great-grandmother. I have been researching my line for over 30 years now. It is nice to see so many of our ancestors listed on Find A Grave and see their stones and stories!

There is no visible or identifiable monument as Jun-2005 when I photographed the cemetery.
I have copies of the cemetery interment and lot records

Children of Anthony Geiger
I checked the site for Sarah Geiger Rhodes and found she died in your county. She was the sister of my g-g-grandmother, Elizabeth Anna Geiger Harter. The list of Anthony Geiger children seems to be well known, but no one seems to know where the info came from. There was reported a family Bible owned by a woman in South Bend years ago, and also owned by a woman in MN some years ago. I spent a day looking for records in Whitley County, IN, where father Anthony Geiger and second daughter Elizabeth Geiger Harter are buried. There are no records due to burned courthouse and Indian territory, etc. Are there still records of the Geiger family existing in Licking Co, OH that lists the children of Anthony and Mary Kirk Geiger? I have the Revolutionary War record of Anthony's father and would like to file a DAR application....if I can prove Elizabeth is his daughter.
