Rumrill photos
Stephanie, Would it be ok if I added some of the photos from the Rumrill family that you have on the memorials to my family tree? I would of course list you as the source. My GG Grandmother was Mary Rumrill Comstock, sister of Homer Rumrill

I was just reading the story of your grandparents. What a tragic story! Do you have any genealogy on back of the Emery family? My father's mother was an Emery.
I just finished re-editing (correcting type-o's) of Uncle Glen's first book. There's quite a lot of mentions of your grandfather, Raymond & Louise.

Hi Stephanie,
In getting back into genealogy, I finally realized from FINDAGRAVE that you are Lorin's daughter, right? I don't know if I just forgot that or am too old and senile to have figured it out. My sister, Nancy went to all the cousin Christmas parties in Portland before she moved here and so knew your dad (our cousin) better than I did. I had moved away in 1958 when I got married. Anyway, I wondered if you have copies of Uncle Glen's books which Dean & Elaine wound up with probably because they were into genealogy back then. Elaine gave me the books (I think the ones Ruby had redone for him) and photo copies of the pages which I returned to her or Beverly. I put them all on my computer and printed copied for my kids of the first book. Naomi later copied the book for her family. I never finished editing the other two books, but they are still on my computer. The first one is the most historical, as it talks about the first telephones, airplanes and automobiles as well as their first years in the sand hills of Nebraska. It has a lot of genealogy links in it also which I am going to start going over again and researching. The other two are mostly concerned with Glen's family (he and Lottie). If you would like them, I could e-mail them to you or put them on a CD and send them to you. They are in Word Perfect, so you may not be able to open them if you use Word. Anyway, let me know and I will get them to you if you don't already have them.

Hi Stephanie,
I guess we are distant cousins. Alberts brother Thomas and Mabels sister Etta are my great grandparents. I live in Southern Oregon. Next time I'm in Portland I will visit you great grand parents grave.

Cleveland Calvary Request
Just a friendly mid June reminder that we need plot info to fill your Cleveland Calvary request(s). We have less than 500 requests left but plot info for only 6% of those, having already filled the rest with plot info. We can't ask for plot info for more than 3 requests per week. Please call (216) 641-7575 and obtain plot info. We'd really appreciate it and will fill your request(s) soon after getting plot info. Thank you!

Rumrill in Hollywood.
this is the plot, but there is only a surname stone, no individual stones or engraving on either side.

You've put in request(s) at Calvary in Cleveland. Several of us are actively working to clear the more than 715 requests. We've actually cleared close to 100 in the past week. With 400,000 burials if you could please obtain plot information AND a plot map one of us will be more likely to be able to fill the request, as the office will only give out a little information to each person. The office phone number is (216) 641-7575. On my page I have the plot maps listed that we already have which is quite a few. If the burial is in one of those sections we don't need another map, just the plot info on the request.

You can try to tell them you'll be visiting when they're closed, etc. So far everyone who's called has been successful in having a map mailed, a few e-mailed. If you get one let me know and I'll give you my e-mail address. With thousands of graves per section a plot map would be VERY helpful. Without plot information it's basically impossible.

RE: Our Myers Connection
'Sorry, Stephanie. I should have said that my great-great grandfather, Lorenzo W. Myers, was Ruth Ann's brother. He had a son, Charles Myers. The children I have listed for Surzardus and Maria were: Ruth Ann, Lucinda, Emiline (Emily), Lorenzo, Philander "Horton", Eleanor, and Emma E. I have a few dates and spouses' names. I think there may have been another son and daughter, based on census records. The only photos I have were of Lorenzo and Ruth (Trowbridge) Myers, and Merritt and Lucinda (Myers) Comstock. I was sent the first two photos by a distant cousin's wife. The latter two I found on a website on The person, I believe, had Rumrill family photos as well. You might check Rumrill family trees.

Calvary Cemetery, Cleveland
Stephanie, I don't know where this cemetery is, but I can find out. Ironically, our daughter and her husband live outside Cleveland. We go to Ohio and stay through the summer. If you wish, I can try and find those two graves.

Our Myers Connection
We are distant cousins, it seems. My great grandfather, Charles Myers, was a brother to Ruth Ann. I thought I understood my dad to say that her family nickname was "Pet".

Little Eva Lionberger
Are you the Stephanie I have been in e-mail contact with? I didn't have a last name. I've been too busy this summer to get back into genealogy, but am starting again and noticed the "leaf" in for Little Eva which led me to Find a Grave. I didn't have a picture of Eva, of course, since she died at 2 months, but would like the picture of the grave stone to add to her profile. She's my mother's sister. I copied and pasted it into Word Perfect and saved it and also put it in "my Pictures" but it doesn't show up when I try to add a photo. Do you know how to do that?

Pine Grove Cemetery
I am looking for the burial place of Norman A Jacques. His death record says he was buried in Freeland, Mich and the informant on his death record (William Jacques and his wife Ida) are buried in Pine Grove Cemetery. Do you know if there is a list of burials anywhere for this cemetery as I do not know if there is a grave marker or not.

Barbara Ferdinand
RE: Emmon's cemetery
A friend sent me some photos from the Vernonia cemetery; I sometimes research and list them but saw that you aleady have the momument listed so I did a bit of research.

Found Margaret as Margaret Catherin (no e) Stewart with a father David and mother Jane.

In 1880 I found them with children
Alice born 1859 Indiana
John 1861 "
Jane (Jenny) born 1864 Illinois
Alonzo 1869 Ill
Hanna 1869 "
Nelly 1875 "
Unnamed child 17 Mar 1881 at Iroquois, Ill

In 1900 they are at Auburn, Oregon. Michael is 65, Margaret 60, married 40 years. They had 7 children, 6 of whom survived. Michael was born in New Jersey as were his parents. He is listed as a farmer. Margaret was born in Ohio; her parents were born in Ireland. A son, Janes, born 1881 (must be that unnamed child)
is living with them.

In 1910, Margaret is a widow, at Clatsop, Oregon,
listed as mother-in-law with Simon and Anna Snyder.

That's as far as I got...thought you might like to add the data to your listing.

Martin Myers Rumrill
Martin Myers is my 4th great grandfather. Ruth Ann Myers Rumrill is related to both of us - so somehow we're related. I've been desperately trying to find photos of the family and just found 1 of Ruth Ann Myers. Do you have more photos of other family members? Are you on if so, maybe we could exchange info.
Margie Myers

Clyde and Charity Isadora Archerd (or Archard) Witcraft
Clyde Monroe Witcraft was the husband of Charity Isadora Archerd (or Archard). Of course, the A. on Charity's tombstone, which we had replaced in the last decade, is for her maiden name.
