David,

The name of the newspaper is The Trenton Times. The date is 16 October 1928. I do not have the page number & unfortunately do not subscribe to that particular newspaper archive site any longer.

I do not have a clearer copy of the death certificate than the one that is listed on my site. That is the way it came from the state of NJ. If there are any particular lines on the certificate that you need to decipher I will try to help you out. Just let me know.

Peter

David,

Here is most of the inscription on the headstone for Thomas Walker GLENN. I can't read the years. I have requested a closer look from a volunteer nearby to try to read the years.

Hopefully that will help.

RE: Transfer of Joseph Hughes
Wow was I thrilled to have your message. Joseph Hughes very special because his farm was sold to my immigrant Scottish gt.gt. grandparents in 1860's. Joseph was also brother to my ancestor Mary Hughes.

Two things I noticed. First your trying to relate Franklin county, PA with Westmoreland co. Many of the early settlers especially English came through Franklin co. and then a few years later-10 years maybe they are in Westmoreland co.. Land too rugged , mountains and inadequate land for farming, etc. so they went West.

Looking at age of Sussannah Grosvenor she married Joseph Hughes when she was young marrying about 1827, was probably babout right.

Wow that is very cool! You have to come to Hingham and see his church it is just like it was when he was the Rev. The Old Ship Church is very cool very much like the Old North Church. Great history.

RE: Rev. Peter Hobart
Hi David,
Yes you are correct. The two cemeteries are only about a 1/2 mile apart. Peter Hobart is very well known, he was the first pastor of The Old Ship Church which is the oldest continuously used church in the USA. Hingham Cemetery has its own website so you can find out more information about Rev. Hobartthere! I hope this information helps you in your search!

Hi David,
I've been trying to fulfill as many photo requests as I can for Forest Hills Cemetery, since it is practically in my backyard, but the cemetery office will only look up the plot location of two names for free, charging a prohibitively high fee of $15 for every two names after the first two. Since the Cemetery grounds cover almost 300 acres, we really need to know the specific plot location to have any chance at all of finding it. I do know, however, that by calling the Forest Hills Cemetery office during business hours (617.524.0128) or by sending them an email (info@foresthillscemetery.com) other people have been able to get the plot locations for free. If you find out the plot location, I'll be happy to photograph the headstone for you the next time I'm there. If you edit your photo request with this information other photo volunteers will be able to access it as well. Finding out what Path or Avenue they're on would be most helpful.
Thanks,
Doug

Hello David,

I am wondering if you are related to the Cincinnatus Tinsmith? I don't know how I missed the Woodward stone as I thought I took photos of all in the cemetery. I live just 5 miles away.
