San Vicente Cemetery
To find the San Vicente cemetery you exit Interstate 69E (also US Highway 77) just north of Harlingen at Combes, TX to State Highway 508 and head east toward Rio Hondo. As you approach Rio Hondo the higway will have some curves and then change to 106 and pass over the draw bridge and through the town of Rio Hondo. On the eastern edge of the town you will pass the new high school. After you pass the high school you go about 3 miles on 106 and the San Vicente #1 cemetery is on the right (south) side of the road. There is another larger cemetery on down the road about another mile, also on the south side of the road, at the intersection with higway 803 that I think is referred to as San Vicente # 2.

RE: Nestor Montanez
Hello Juan
Thanks for the message. Perfectly understandable to want to keep your memorial. I think now you have moved him to Normandy American Cemetery more people will see your page and acknowledge a very brave soldier who died at such a young age. He is laid to rest in a most beautiful place above Omaha beach. When I visit there again I will go and pay my respects.
Kind regards
Carol ( from Hampshire in England)

RE: Thank you Art
No problem.

Is this a relative?? Would you like the management transfered to you?

If not, do you have any dates, or know "about" when he died, so I can do some research on that??

We have photographed ALL of the headstones in San Benito Cemetery, and getting the names uploaded, and then will go back and upload all of those photos. Should be completed in a few months.

Re Carl Newmiller at Forest Oaks
Hi - thank you for claiming my photo request for Carl Newmiller at Cook-Walden Forest Oaks Cemetery. Please note that the plot info I had on his memorial was incorrect (which is why Geno-seeker couldn't find it) and that I've called the cemetery again and have the correct plot info now recorded on his memorial: Garden of Meditation rather than Garden of Peace. Thank you. Take care.

RE: Many Thanks
No problem, Juan -

Please click on the Memorial that you posted for a "Bayview Cemetery", and delete that entry. (DELETE) button at the top of the Memorial.

And then send a brief email to
edit#findagrave.com and ask them to delete the cemetery listing.

That will help keep the Cameron Co. area "clean"...

Anything I can do to help with other family members, just ask!

I have photos for the two memorials I posted and would like to post them if you don't mind. Cal Shugart & Nora McDonald are the two pages I posted. I just hadn't gotten around to posting the photos.

I hate to ask, but would you mind deleting one or two of your photos on Cora Nesbitt's page (#34134380) so I can add some old black & white family photos that I found? There are four photos of her grave but only one photo of Cora herself. Thank you so much!

RE: Photo request
Sorry Juan, I do not see your photo requests. Did someone else already find them? If not, please load your requests soon, as we plan to finish Mont Meta during Easter weekend. Also, I just submitted a spreadsheet, so the names should be up tomorrow, some of them are Bocanegras - Josefa, Samuel, Sirenia, Francisca, Isidro. I have a picture for Victor and Christina also, but did not put them up because they might be living, no death dates are on the stone and they were both born in 1939.

Juan....HAPPY NEW YEAR - You made my day! Thank you so much for finding his marker and posting his grave photo. Is there a wife buried beside him? In 1930 Census he was married to a Kathrine N. born c1895. Married c1924. I found a Katheryne HANEY died in Wichita Co TX, in Texas Deaths, but not on SSDI, date of death 3/15/1980 and wondered if she is buried with him? If she is, and dates are known, I can add her record and link them. did you happen to photo her grave? Thanks so much
