Asking if you would transfer the memorials of Lee and Jennie Campbell Robinson Trowbridge to me. They are my maternal grandparents. Thanks for all that you do.

Thank you for adding the edits and noting the date discrepancy in her bio. I think that is a good way to handle it. -Judi

Old Lot Perkins Cem.
I have combined the one in TN with the one in Whitley. There are now several duplicates to iron out whenever.
Let me know if I can help with duplicates/links etc. Or if there is anything more I can add to description and notes....more specific directions...cemetery history... number of rock / worn markers, etc.
Cheers!

Elisha (Elijah) Cooper
Hello, my name is Patience N. Lawson-Taylor. I am the 3rd great granddaughter of George W. Cooper, 2nd great granddaughter of Elisha (Elijah) Cooper, great granddaughter of Charlie Cooper, Granddaughter of Eula E.Cooper. I am researching our family and have run into a wall with finding information on Laura Ellen Reedy-Cooper. I had read her name in one of your posts and was wondering if you know who her mother and father were? Any information you could provide would greatly be appreciated. My email is patience77.pt@gmail.com

James C. Cooper
Steve - Will tell you (and anyone) what I DO know and what I WISH someone would find about James Colwell Cooper, Old Lot Perkins Cem., 1841-1903. The middle initial is incorect. It is a "C" (for Colwell/sometimes given as Caldwell or Coldwell?). I got scratched up - who of us hasn't at times? - a large bush with (unfortunate) stickers had grown up around his marker in the early 1980's.

I shoved and stepped to read the marker as it was a Cooper, my husband's family. We believe him to be the James, home with his parents, James Madison and Rachael Colwell Cooper, on the 1850 Campbell Co., TN census: still at home 1860 Hawkins Co., TN census, no longer home in 1870. He has siblings. The brother who was also in Whitley Co., KY/Campbell Co., TN deed books after James death in 1903 is Benoni C.(Colwell/Caldwell) Cooper married to Florida J. Kincaid. James' Will is recorded in Campbell Co., TN 27 Oct 1903 and again in Whitley Co., KY in Will Bk.4, on 9 Aug 1906. Written in 1886 the Will states: "of Hawkins County, TN but now tranciently in Campbell Co., TN....leave to B.C. Cooper, my brother, all property.... Will witnessed by G.P. Lawson and Murphy Siler. Marshall Siler believed the 2 of them and George W. Cooper (same cem.) were brothers - not so. He thought they were together a lot. Believe there is a relationship to G.W. Cooper - sure would like to find the "how"!

Correct relationships for Lela and Lottie Mae Cooper
No GOOD excuse for incorrect relationships last night - just too late at night! Parents George Madison and Mary Elizabeth Baker Copper are correct. Children's grandparents are Elijah (same cemetery) and Laura Ellen Reedy Cooper. She is buried newer cemetery - Lot Fairview. George W.Cooper (same cemetery) is Elijah (later on censuses spelled Elisha L.) Cooper's father - Lela and Lottie Mae Cooper's great grandfather. Dr. George Madison Cooper (same cemetery) is Elijah's brother. Children's parents George and Mary both died Sullivan County, TN and are buried there

Kingtown Cemetery
Good morning Steve. The community of Kingtown is located just inside McCreary Co., KY maybe .2 miles from the KY/TN state line. At one time the mailing address for the residents of that area was actually Winfield, TN. even though they lived in KY. I don't live there so I don't know if it still is or not.

Lela Cooper and Lottie Cooper
Children at Old Lot Perkins Cemetery. The 2 children listed above are the daughters of George Madison and Mary Elizabeth Baker Cooper. George W. Cooper born 1831 in same cemetery is their grandfather. Dr. George Madison Cooper born 1873, died 1904, in same cemetery is their fathers brother. The father of these children was named after his grandfather and uncle. We previously worked with the death date of George W. Cooper who did not die in 1880 - but remarried in 1881 and had another son with his second wife. Lottie Mae Cooper does have a KY Death Record on Ancestry.com. -I have not found a Ky record for death of Lela in 1911.

Kingtown Cemetery
Hi Steve. I thought you might want to know that Kingtown Cemetery is located in McCreary Co., KY, not Scott Co., TN. I have been there numerous times as I have relatives buried there. Also, there is already a KY listing for this cemtery that is rather extensive with 215 interments recorded. Consequently, the Scott Co. listing is a much smaller and incorrect duplicate.

RE: Re: George W. Cooper
I'm not aware of who put in a headstone. I do not have dates - but absolutely he remarried in 1881 and absolutely James "Dillard" Cooper told us abt. 1979 that he and Ethel remembered son "Tom" and his family visiting - they thought in the 1930's. Can you, or anyone, tell me who put in the headstone and where they got the years??

Old Lot Perkins Cemetery date correction
Steve Trammell:

Re: birth and death dates for George W. Cooper. Your birth year is a correct guess - death year is not correct. This is my husbands greatgrandfather and we have done extensive work on this family. George W. Cooper, age 49, born Knox Co., KY (incorrect - should read Knox Co, TN) remarried to Mary Louisa Maine, age 23, born Whitley Co., KY on 1 Aug. 1881. Lics. Campbell Co., TN. (I have a copy) Both give their residence as Whitley Co., KY. George left his 5 sons alone, the oldest James C. Cooper was abt. 12, took his new wife and went to Texas. He and "Lu" had 1 son Homer Thomas Cooper. "Tom" and his wife were back to KY to visit family twice. I was first told this story by James "Dillard" Cooper, oldest son of James C. Cooper< in abt. 1979, soon after my husband and I married. Lu stayed in TX, or went back to TX. Dillard and his siter Ella Cooper Lawson, as well as my father-in-law verified where George is buried but story is conflicting, therefore unknown as to whether George died in KY - or in TX. Have been told that son George Madison Cooper (buried with marker same cem.) who was a doctor may had his body shipped back on the train. Thius is as much as I know - we found Mary Louisa and son Homer Tomas on censuses and in records in TX. Will be happy to respond to questions. klcooper2304@att.net
