Shippee Cemetery in RI
I notice that you have photographed gravestones in the Shippee Cemetery in Glocester, RI. I am trying to determine the exact location of this cemetery. Neither Find-a-Grave nor the RI Historical Cemetery Commission has it mapped. Is it the one I see on a satellite view of the area out in the middle of a field, northeast of the intersection of Rtes. 94 and 101? If so, are there other gravestones in there that you didn't photograph?

Thank you for any help you can give.

Hi Karen, so sorry it took a while to send this. We have had a death in our family. Things have been confusing I don't know if I did everything you asked me to. Please send me another message if I need to link or transfer anyone to you. God Bless Di

I transferred the rest of your family. I still have about 200 images to put on for South Sodus. I scanned through them quick and didn't see Eliza Ashford but she might be in the pile. I am hoping to finish posting the rest of the cemetery early this week. You will be the first to know if I find her. I am so glad I was able to get this family to you. God Bless Di

I have never done this, however, I followed the directions on find a grave on how to transfer a record. As I thought...I transferred ownership to find a grave. Can you request them to transfer ownership. I am sorry I can not assist. Originally I submitted the entire Brookside Cemetery without realizing I would have to maintain in any capacity the records I submitted. As I did not have the time to devote to properly do this, Find a grave took over the maintaining for me.

Shortly after contributing the headstone data for this cemetery, I turned over control of the editing to Findagrave. After receiving your message, I logged on to find a couple more requests for changes. Is there a way that I can relinquish these records to you for you to make the corrections/adjustments?

RE: Daniel Lamson
I am really excited to have you be my first person to request a transfer. I have been kinda sad for some of the dead that there is no one in the cemetery with their same name. Makes you wonder if they died and the family moved away. It takes me forever to enter one of those , I feel like I have to give them a family. I end up on archives or ancestry finding their history just so I can make a note that their family moved away. SO....I am excited to give you your family member. I have never done it before so if I don't do it correct let me know. God Bless

RE: Katherine Ann Reynolds
Hi Karen,

I've not been doing too much genealogy lately. I've been working on some scout things and transcribing a few cememteries around here and in CT. Not much work on my tree. I'll look into it again. I also don't have a death date for her. Do you? If we knew where and when she died we might be able to get her death record. Do you have the death records for Walter or Charles? Just wondering. I fixed Katherine too. Thanks for the catch. Talk to you soon
Cathy

Peter
Abigail Knight
Was Abigail Knight born 18 Oct 1799 and died 23 Apr 1900 the daughter of John Knight and Abigail Knight? If so then John's parents were John Knight and Abigail Willey. John Knight's parents were Abraham Knight and Hannah Willey and Abigail Knight's parents were William Knight and Phebe Hayes. William Knight's parents were Abraham Knight and Hannah Willey. This would make your husband's ancestor Abigail's parents John and Abigail were first cousins. Their fathers John and William were brothers AND brothers to Isaac and Solomon #2 .

Peter
Solomon Knight
The headstone is of Solomon Knight #1(son of Isaac Knight and Lydia Jordan)who married twice. His first wife was Mary Polly Knight. Her parents were Solomon Knight #2 and Polly Reynolds. Mary Polly Knight's father's parents were Abraham Knight and Hannah Willey. Isaac Knight's parents were also Abraham Knight and Hannah Willey. Therefore, Isaac Knight and Solomon Knight #2 were brothers. Therefore, Solomon Knight #1 and Mary Polly Knight were first cousins.
Here are Mary Polly Knight parents and direct ancestors.
Solomon Knight m. Polly Reynolds
Abraham Knight m. Hannah Willey
Robert Knight Jr m. Elizabeth Heard
Robert Knight m. Abigail Wilson
Robert Knight m. Mary Knight

I have more information on these people if you desire the information.

RE: Mowers
Hi Karen,
It was good to hear from you. I am still trying to sort out all the Mowers and their connection to the DeGarmos. There are a lot of Mowers, DeGarmos and Cristmans that are buried and lived in Oswego county. There are also connections in the Mohawk Valley in Herkimer County with the Crismans, DeGarmos, Mowers, Acklers, Getmans and Edicks. There very interconnected! I am trying to sort them out. It is coming slowly but I am making progress. I'll let you know.
I am about half done with the Bidwell cemertery. There are some more Mowers. I hope to get back down there in a couple weeks.

Mowers
Karen,
I noticed that you had been interested in some Mowers photos from the Bidwell Cemetery In Parish , NY. I have relatives buried there and am in the process of trying to photograph all of the graves in the cemetery. I began entering some today and will take and enter more soon. I thought you might be interested I added another photo to Conrad and Charity Mowers memorials, and photos to Nelly, Hellen, Daniel, Lucy and Benjamin Mowers Memorials. Also I am wondering if we are connected. My great-great-great grandmother, who is buried at Bidwell, is Mary E.Mowers DeGarmo. I am still attempting to sort out the Mowers relationships with her.

Hi, I'm a Shippee researcher. Would you please tell me exactly how Arthur Hopkins and Ethel Shippee are related and how Lemuel Hopkins and Susan Hopkins are related so I can get it straight in my genealogy? Thank you. Judy

Thank you for the pictures of Frances and Francis (Pete and Pug), and also the WWII picture. Francis shared very little about his time in the war, but we are so very proud of what he did.

Thank you for working so hard on the family tree.
