RE: Robersons
Thanks,Brett. Actually, after I sent my last message I realized that there were two Alexander Robersons. The one whose memorial I pointed out was a son of Edward Caldwell Roberson, who was a brother of your fiancee's Alexander. As for the Robersons of Centralia, I'll write to Susan and ask if she's related to your fiancee's family. I'd be very surprised if they aren't at least cousins!

RE: Robersons
Hi Brett,

Well this is very interesting! I ran across the Robersons in Centralia when I was a kid looking for a pen pal and I started writing to Susan their daughter. When I was 15 our family was on a road trip to the Pacific Northwest and we spent a couple of days with them. Susan is now Susan Peterson and lives in Marysville, WA. We just recently got back in touch after many years

I don't know if you noticed a memorial I created for Alexander on the site. Find A Grave Memorial# 63162933. Or is this the same Alexander you were talking about? Enjoy your Sunday!

Ron

RE: Joshua A. Roberson
Interesting....I met some descendants of Alexander when visiting Centralia, Washington, once when I was about 15 years old. Of course Alexander is buried in Linn County with his brother my great-grandfather and other members of the family. We visited there about a year and a half ago.

As for the spelling of the name, personally I think it was already spelled Roberson when our ancestors came over from Great Britain. It's pretty clear we are descended from the Robersons that founded Robersonville, North Carolina. You can read about them here:

http://www.robersons.us/

I'm sure your fiancee, like me, has corrected the spelling of the family name a million times. My guess is that the "t" on Joshua Roberson's grave was somebody's effort to replace the "t" that somebody had left out. But as far as I know there's no way to prove all this. :-)

RE: Roberson Family
Hi Brett,
Thanks for your message. Yes we are definitely related; Joshua Roberson was my great-great grandfather. Which of his kids is your fiancee descended from?

Do you happen to have Find A Grave Memorial numbers for Edward Murphy and Cynthia Waggoner?

RE: Ruth Carroll Neeley
Brett,
Glad I could help with the photos.
Wanted to let you know that about a week after I took the photos, I ran across a small ledger of my grandmother's (Amanda Sappington McHenry #69863767). In it were several pages of addresses and one entry was "Ruth Neeley, 820 Cedar Ave." Apparently my grandmother knew Ruth. They were the same age. My grandmother taught at Gering HS for 50 yrs or so starting about 1913. Do you know if Ruth was a school teacher?
Thanks,
Rolf McHenry

RE: Greetings from Seattle
Good to hear from you, I haven't had much contact with your Aunt Jean and your Dad. My sister Joyce has been in contact with Jean when your Grandmother was ill and after she died. I am always looking for more information about our family, I have a family tree on Ancestry.com.
Contact me anytime if you want to, my email is ford1943@comcast.net.

Hope to hear from you,

Jerry
