Flora Edna Hay Schnyder Shatto
Hi Scott:

Thanks for the edits on Flora Shatto's memorial. Had a lot of fun figuring this one out. Should have mentioned in my suggested bio that with her second marriage she not only became her son-in-law's step-mother but also her daughter's mother-in-law. I think there's a country-western song in there somewhere.

Cheers, Barry

That did the trick, thanks! It was entirely in the opposite direction from what I gathered after reading that other person's notes.

RE: Annie Burkepile
Unfortunately, no, we don't know who she married..if she did! We had her as simply "Ann" Burkepile, daughter of John George Burkepile and Barbara (Messmore) Burkepile, born 30 Apr 1821 in Pennsylvania (not sure of county--the family had just moved a few years previous from Maryland); died 24 Jan 1893 (again, not sure where); no documentation that she married.

Ludolph Church Cemetery
Scott,
Since you live in Perry County and are a genealogy buff, I thought I'd ask you if you knew where Ludolph church cemetery is. Supposedly my great-great-great grandparents (John George and Barbara Burkepile) are buried there, but they're not listed on Find a Grave anywhere. The Find A Grave site for this cemetery does not give directions on how to find it. I have a photo of the church, and photos of these gravestones, taken by Don Burkepile, and his church photo does not look anything like the one at Find A Grave. Also, I have some rather vaque directions he was given on how to find the cemetery, located out of Elliottsburg which did not include road names, and I was unable to find it at Google Maps.
Hoping you can help,
Ruth Ellen Bartels

RE: Annie Burkepile
Scott,
Yes thank you so much. Now I can see the photos. I still don't know who Annie is, however, but at least now I know it's not the one I was asking about, since Burkepile is her married name. Maybe sometime the "spirits will align" or something, and I can learn what her maiden name was! (The Burkepile's of Pennsylvania, as far as I know, are all my family line--my paternal grandmother was a Burkepile. The name got mis-spelled and corrupted in dozens of forms as you can imagine!)

Annie Burkepile
Regarding Find A Grave Memorial# 45816930, I'm wondering if this is our relative Ann Burkepile. We have her birth information different, however: as either April 15 or April 30 of 1821, not 1822. I believe there are some photos attached to this site, but they are not coming through...perhaps no longer meet Find A Grave criteria? I'd be most interested to see those photos.

Hi Scott,
I noticed that you created memorial #45841551 for Wayne G. Jones. Do you know anything about him? Are you related to him? Thanks.

Shatto's at Brookfield Cemetery
Scott: I took some pictures at Brookfield Cemetery of members of the Shatto Family. I added an Amy and Mother Shatto. I thought you would like to know this info. I did not find any of the ones you have actual photo request for.

New Shatto headstone pictures
Hello Scott- My name is Rick Harris and I am a distant cousin of yours. (Carrie B Shatto married John W Bretz in Perry county in 1910. John W Bretz is an uncle to my great grandmother, Elcala Orsiana Bretz. I recently received some headstone pics from an east coast cousin (I live out west in Colorado). Two of the photos are of 4 Shattos buried in Red Hill Cemetery in Pa. I'd like to email them to you so you can add them to your Shatto Virtual Cemetery list. I'm really impressed with the work you have done - congradulations! My email adress is : akrickharris@yahoo.com -best wishes Rick

Mabel Elizabeth Triplett Shatto
Thanks Scott:

Yes you are right. She is not Martha but Mabel. Must have had a senior moment when entering her given name. It's been corrected.

RE: Charles H Shatto Birth Date
Wish I could find a death record or burial for him. The Missouri Shattos can be quite elusive.

Barry Michie
Charles H Shatto Birth Date
Hi Scott:

On this one I'm pretty sure I'm right. The 1900 census for Charles H., s/o Winfield Scott Shatto, does have Aug 1896 as his birth date. However his WWI draft registration has August 31 1899. He could, of course, have made himself a bit younger for purposes of the draft.

Haven't found him after the 1930 census so have no further info on him.

Cheers, Barry

Union Cemetery - New Bloomfield
Scott,

Could you please give me the address for this cemetery? I see some ancestors of mine are supposed to be buried there, and I'd like to see it for myself, but no address is listed!

And since you've taken pictures there, I believe you can give me that information!

Thanks so much.

Couple of Shatto Memorials
Scott:

See you got Ruth Elizabeth Wolf's new memorial linked up to Joseph W Shatto's memorial.

Also, I've made the edit on Gerald Bernard Shatto's memorial you contacted me about - the gender typo in the bio-sketch. The more eye's looking at things the better!

Cheers, Barry

Winfield Scott Shatto
Scott:

Thanks. Made the change as suggested. As you pointed out I misread the 1860 census, seeing an 8 instead of a 6 for his age.

Best, Barry
