RE: Millar corrections.
I found John R Millar's obit in the Chicago Star Publications October 18, 1927. He was married to Mary Ann White until she died in 1919. He then married Eliza Millar. It said she was a foster child of his mother. He died in the Old Soldiers Home in Leavenworth Kansas in October 1927.

addition to previous comment
John Millar born in 1824 remarried after Eliza died to a woman named Ella. I have that she was born in Maryland in 1851. I have a post card picture that she sent to John's son Andrew that sounded as if she was returning to Maryland after John died.

RE: Madelyn Barclay
Madelyn is a 2nd cousin of mine, two generations removed. Her Grandfather Martin John Buckner and my Great-Great Grandfather David "Traugott" Buckner were brothers.

It's so nice to meet another "shirt-tail" relative in my ongoing genealogical journey. I think I actually already have your name in my family tree. At least it's a possibility. I have Lawrence Varkalis, son of Charles Anton "Chick" Varkalis, son of Dorothy Wiles Varkalis, who was a step-sister??? of Preston "Barc" Barclay. I got so terribly confused with their parents because I ended up with too many? husbands of Shirley Helena Barclay, so I gave up. Let me know how I did.

Best Wishes,

Thank you so much for your time and effort to provide a photograph of the Preston and Madelyn Barclay gravesite. I truly appreciate it and hope you will consent to allow me to include it in my personal family tree.

I fould the information for John's death from the Illinois Death and Stillbirth records dated 1914-1947. It said that he died in Chicago and buried at Presbyterian Cemetery. His parents names matched the family I was reserching and the family moved to Elkhart IN before 1935.
Maybe they moved his body to Indiana cemetery where they are both buried after moving to Elkhart. I have attached his parent to his memorial for your information. Check the mmothers maidian name, maybe her family paid for the babies buriel.

Thanks much for the updates and transfers. Most appreciated. I will see what I can do about getting exact dates and places filled in.

Remembered Forever
Re: Theodore Griese
Hello..Sorry this message is late getting to you. Theodore Griese is my grandfather (3x removed). I have a copy of the front page write up to his death from the Chicago Heights Star May 4, 1934. It says that the cemetery he was buried at was Presbyterian in Chicago Heights. I was there this past summer with a distant cousin who also said he was buried there. I have the same photo of the gate to the cemetery that you have posted for Find A Grave. We spent some time at the cemetery, but could not find the plot. We were told that it was on the south side somewhere near the fence line, but couldn't find it. It looked like there were some stones that were very difficult to read. I am assuming he was buried there somewhere?? Thanks for any help.

RE: Mary McQueen Simpson McEldowney
Mary's brother was:
Quincy Sutherland McEldowney
Birth 30 Dec 1916 in Chicago Heights, Cook, Illinois
Death 10 Aug 1937 in Chicago Heights, Cook, Illinois
buried Oak Lawn Cemetery, Janesville, Wisconsin (per Cook County death record, with his mother's family)

I'm a cousin to the McEldowneys via the Caskeys and Wallaces (and a couple more times). My MaWhinney cousins are also in Bloom Cemetery. These old Scot/Irish families intermarried a LOT, I joke I'm my own cousin 14 times ;-)

That's an old copy of my tree, Ancestry hasn't been co-operating on my dlo of the tree so I can update the Rootsweb one. I had gone by the Bloom Cem record and based her parents on who she was buried with. Then I found the birth cert.

Didn't realize my FB friend had such an auspicious connection to Midwest Cemetery Preservation until you left a flower note on my Mom's site and I recognized your name and all came together. I'm glad I met you through Nancy.

Thanks for your effort of making pictures for this wonderful project.

At this moment I cannot find an additional photo as mentioned for but perhaps I'll have to wait?
