Re: # 74236656 Lt Abraham Parmalee
Thanks a million for posting the Parmalee/Parmele tombstones! I just discovered these are ancestors of mine, who knew? Would you please give me permission to post these tombstones to my Family Tree?
Keep up the great work photographing tombstones!

I am not relate to this family. I try to do a little research on the memorials that I add to Find A Grave; sometimes with the help of others. I really appreciate your kind words.

Litzinger - Arlington Cemetery
Photo request for James B. has been fulfilled. Also on the stone are Lillian A. and Elizabeth A. - both memorials already exist and I've uploaded the photo there.

Three more names that need memorials:

Margaret E. Henderson 1906-1987
John J. Henderson 1926-1996
James R. Henderson 1926-2010

If you would like to create these memorials I'd be happy to upload my photo.

RE: Jehiel Parmele
As you can see they aren't that easy to read, to add to the confusion, the next stone is Lieut. Jehiel Pamele (I believe his father), and is of the same stone, but we caught it right, and lucked out.
You are welcome, glad to oblige.

Hi Charleen,

As far as I can tell from the pic I have of the stone, the information is as follows: Rose M. 1878-19__ and Charlie E. 1857-1939. There is no death date ingraved in the stone for Rose. We will be back up that way this weekend, with your permission, I will clean the stone off a bit and take a better pic for you. There is a bit of moss that makes the stone hard to read. I can also email this pic to you directly so you can open it up with a higher resolution. Thanks, Cyndi

Ron Kinney
Myron Hill/Chautauqua County Poorhouse
Hi Charleen, Last summer I finally found the cemetery. I asked permission because the cemetery is on private property now. The owner told me to go ahead and pointed the way. I am sorry to say that all the headstones in the cemetery have been removed, not knowing where they went. There are two memorial stones there, one very old stone that reads, In memory of the inmates of the Chautauqua Poor House who died and were buried here from 1832 to 1864 about 600 in total. A second stone rededicating the cemetery which reads The Chautauqua Poor Farm Cemetery, at this site are buried approximately 1600 individuals, most of whom died as residents of the Poor Farm, the cemetery one acre in size, was used for almost 100 years, beginning in 1832. Rededicated in 2001. I have put these photos on the memorial of other residents of the Poor Farm Cemetery. If you want the photos put on Myron's memorial, I will be glad to add them.
Sincerely, Ron Kinney

RE: SC and EC Billingslea
Yes, they were in the cemetery that's beside the Baptist Church and that some people call Fannin Baptist Cemetery. I had posted a fix-it request to have the name listed as Fannin Cemetery, aka Fannin Baptist Cemetery, since it's called by both names (and is much older than the church next door), but for some reason it got changed to just Fannin Baptist Cemetery. There are two Fannin Cemeteries, one white and one black. The white one is the one next door to the Baptist Church. The black one is on Mt. Helm Road. It's the one listed on Find-a-Grave as just Fannin Cemetery.
